Snowpiercer (TV Series)
Snowpiercer is an American post-apocalyptic dystopian TV series directed by Bong Joon-ho, based on both the 1982 graphic novel as well as the 2013 film of the same name, being a reboot of the latter. It first aired on TNT on May 17th of 2020 and is also currently available on video-on-demand services. A second season is scheduled to air in mid-2021.
The series takes place in the eponymous Snowpiercer, a gigantic train moved by a perpetual motion engine, built and administered by the Wilford Industries, with an entire functioning civilization inside of it; it consists of the last remaining survivors of Earth after it has been turned into an extremely cold and inhospitable wasteland. The passengers are divided by class, with the richer 1st class placed further front, the poorest 3rd class further back, and the 2nd class in-between. Those who live on the far end or the Tail ("Tailies") are the most downtrodden and live in the worst conditions of all the train. The plot focuses on the inequality among the passengers, the oppression the lower classes face and their urge for a revolution.
