Rush Hour is a 1998 American action comedy starring Jackie Chan as Lee, an inspector of the Hong Kong Police Force who travels to Los Angeles in order to investigate the kidnapping of the daughter of a Chinese diplomat. Upon his arrival, Lee is paired with James Carter (Chris Tucker), an LAPD detective whose real assignment is to keep Lee away from the investigation. Together, they discover the conspiracy behind the crimes they are investigating. The film was directed by Brett Ratner and would spawn two sequels: 2001's Rush Hour 2 and 2007's Rush Hour 3 as well as a 2016 television series adaptation.

Beretta 92FS Inox

LAPD Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker) carries a Beretta 92FS Inox as his sidearm throughout the film. Sang (Ken Leung) also uses one fitted with a compensator. When Carter attempts to stop Chief Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) from getting to the Chinese consulate, Carter draws a Beretta on Lee before being disarmed and held at gunpoint with his own gun by Lee. Carter then pulls out his back-up Beretta 92FS and draws it on Lee before a cab driver (Gene LeBell) draws his own Beretta 92FS on the duo.

Beretta 92FS

The Beretta 92FS is used by several characters including FBI Special Agent Dan Whitney (Rex Linn). Two LAPD officers draw their Berettas when they mistake Carter for a criminal. Chief Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) holds and even disassembles one. Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker) also has a 92FS as his back-up weapon and notably points it during the standoff with Lee before a cab driver (Gene LeBell) pulls out his own 92FS and points it at Lee and Carter. It should be noted that the FBI has never authorized the Beretta 92FS for use by its agents. During the film's time period, FBI agents carried the SIG-Sauer P226 or SIG-Sauer P228, like Agent Warren Russ (Mark Rolston).
