The Ref (1994)

The Ref (released as Hostile Hostages in some countries) is a 1994 American dark comedy directed by Ted Demme (Blow) and was produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. The film's plot revolves around a luckless thief (Denis Leary) who encounters more and more mishaps when he tries to rob a home and then takes a couple hostage during Christmas Eve. The film's cast included Judy Davis and Kevin Spacey.

Beretta 92FS

Perpetually luckless thief Gus (Denis Leary) carries a Beretta 92FS as his main gun for most of the film. He only fires his gun once in the film. The only time he fires it is to stop the Smoke alarm from beeping. When Gus is trying to shut the smoke alarm up, he accidentally drops the gun, Jesse (Robert J. Steinmiller Jr) then picks it up and points it at Gus, threatening him to untie his parents, but Gus pushes him on the bed takes the gun and shoots the smoke alarm.
