Red Buttons (1919-2006) holds an M1 Thompson as Pvt. John Steele in The Longest Day.
Red Buttons (born Aaron Chwatt) (1919-2006) was an American actor/comedian who was known to television audiences for his variety show The Red Buttons Show. However in film, he appeared in several dramatic roles, including roles in The Longest Day, The Poseidon Adventure and 1957's Sayonara, a film for which he received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
