Puppet on a Chain is a 1971 crime thriller directed by Geoffrey Reeve and based on the novel by Alistair MacLean. The special agent Paul Sherman (Sven-Bertil Taube) is sent from USA to Holland in order to track down the drug shipping from Amsterdam.

Colt Detective Special

A Colt Detective Special is carried by Paul Sherman (Sven-Bertil Taube) in several scenes. In the final scene Sherman's Colt DS is used by Inspector Van Gelder (Patrick Allen).

When Paul Sherman (Sven-Bertil Taube) overtakes The Assassin (Peter Hutchins), he is armed with a Smith & Wesson Model 36 revolver. Next moment Sherman's revolver switches to Colt Detective Special.

Pistols

Femaru 37M

Several Meegeren's henchmen carry Femaru 37M pistols in various scenes. During the brawl on the barge Sherman's opponent is armed with a suppressed 37M. Sherman manages to disarm him and use the pistol himself. Later he disarms another henchman. The suppressed pistol used by The Assassin (Peter Hutchins) in the opening scene is supposed to be the same 37M.

In the scene in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport The Assassin (Peter Hutchins) uses a nickel plated pocket pistol with pearl grips. It isn't seen clear enough to be identified.

Luger P08

In the final scene Trudi (Penny Casdagli) appeares with a Luger P08. Next moment her pistol switches to Walther P38. Then P38, used by Paul Sherman, switches back to P08.

In the final scene Trudi's (Penny Casdagli) Luger P08 switches to Walther P38. Her pistol is then used by Paul Sherman (Sven-Bertil Taube) until it switches again to P08.

In the final scene both Police Colonel De Graaf (Alexander Knox) and Police Inspector Van Gelder (Patrick Allen) are armed with Beretta M1934 or M1935 pistols.
