High Standard Double Nine "Longhorn"

Tex (Austin Butler) uses a High Standard Double Nine Longhorn revolver with a cutoff trigger guard. During the real Tate–LaBianca murders, a .22 LR High Standard revolver was indeed used, likely very similar to the Double Nine.

Ithaca 37

Rick also uses an Ithaca 37 shotgun during his appearance in a television episode of "The F.B.I.". In actuality, the villain in the recreated episode ("All the Streets Are Silent" S01E11), Michael Murtaugh , was played by Burt Reynolds. See the discussion page for further information.

M2 Flamethrower

An M2 Flamethrower is used by Rick while during the filming of a World War II movie. Rick then uses it during a confrontation.

Trivia: At one point, while Dalton is testing the flamethrower on a movie set, he states that it's too hot and asks if they can tone it down, to which the armorer replies "It's a flamethrower, Rick." This is based off of an actual interaction on-set between DiCaprio and the armorer. Presumably Tarantino thought it was on-brand for DiCaprio's character and decided to add it to the script.
