Night-Night Weapons

"Night-Night Gun"

A fictional prototype sniper rifle known as the "Night-Night Gun" designed by Leo Fitz is used by Grant Ward near the end of the pilot (S01E01) in order to knock out Mike Petersen. It is a tranquillizer rifle which works by firing a small caliber projectile at high velocity which breaks up immediately after penetrating the first layer of skin, releasing a payload of 0.1 micro litre of a paralytic toxin.

Coulson and everyone else in his team arm themselves with I.C.E.R. pistols after they arrive back at the Hub, first used in the middle of "Turn, Turn, Turn" (S01E17) as their main sidearm for non-lethal situations. These props were originally the "Tranq Guns" from seasons 3, 4 and 5 of Chuck and are built from WE Hi-Capa 3.8 C airsoft pistols.
