Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - Season 3
The following lists the weapons seen in Season 3 of the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit:
The Glock 19 is the sidearm carried by the majority of NYPD detectives in the Special Victims Unit including Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), Detective John Munch (Richard Belzer), and Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola (Ice-T). Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek) is sometimes seen carrying one in some episodes. Uniformed NYPD Officers are seen using Glock 19s as well. Like many television shows and films, many times when a Glock is seen being drawn, the sound effect of a hammer cocking is heard (despite the fact that Glocks are hammerless).
A commercial M1911A1 is used by a suspect during a brief standoff with Det. Benson at the end of "Wrath" (S3E02).
In "Justice" (S3E19), a SIG-Sauer P232 is used by Tony Degalio (Michael Luggio) in a shooting. Identified as a .380 semiautomatic, Det. Benson picks it up with a pen as evidence out of an abandoned van.
American Derringer Model 1
An American Derringer Model 1 is seen fired in the weapons lab in "Repression" (S3E01).
Smith & Wesson Sigma Subcompact
Colt Python (snub)
Colt Detective Special
What appears to be a Colt Detective Special is used in an alley shooting in "Sacrifice" (S3E07). It's identified early on a by a witness (a homeless ex-Marine) as a "Snub-nose revolver, probably a .38"
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The NYPD ESU Officers throughout the series use Heckler & Koch MP5A3s as one of their main weapons. They are fitted with various attachments, such as scopes or tactical flashlights.
