James Hampton (July 9, 1936 - April 7, 2021) has 97 credits as an actor in film, television and music videos in a career spanning 1960 to 2015. He gained popularity playing the good-natured but incompetent bugler on F Troop. He also appeared as Saul Taylor in 49 episodes of the immensely popular daytime drama Days of Our Lives (1989). In addition to acting, he directed numerous television shows from 1992 to 2000.
