Gomorrah (TV Series)
Gomorrah is an Italian crime drama TV series that first aired on May 6th 2014. Currently two seasons are finished and two more seasons are scheduled. It takes place in the criminal underworld of Naples. The series is partly based on the book Gomorrah which the movie is also based on although the characters and stories are different from the movie. The book was written by Roberto Saviano who has since been forced to live in hiding due to death threats from the Italian mafia.
The series mostly follows Ciro Di Marzio (Marco D'Amore) who is attempting to climb the ranks in the Savastano clan and Genny Savastano (Salvatore Esposito) who is the bosses son and the heir to the Savastano clan. But similar to the movie it also focuses on a lot of other, sometimes temporary characters and their development such as rival villain Don Salvatore Conte (Marco Palvetti) and 16 year old Danielino (Vincenzo Sacchettino) who appears in episodes 8, 9 and 10.
Note: the Italian series is originally called Gomorra however this was changed into Gomorrah for the international release. This explains why the -h is missing from the series intro.
