Personally, I really want to ditch this image from IMFDB. It is a very early Type I stamped-receiver AK-47 that does not reflect the most widely circulated AK-47 model (which would be the milled-receiver Type III). Furthermore, lazy people often use it to represent AK derivatives like the Chinese Type 56. Like I've said, it is not a good representation of the typical AK-pattern rifle in use, or even a good representation of a true "AK-47". -MT2008

New Milled Receiver AK pic

I will try to track down an original milled receiver gun to photograph. I don't have any Poly Techs myself, of which I am kicking myself but I will try to replace this image. MT2008 is right. This version is NOT a good indicator of what was used in MOVIES. Usually the Poly Tech legend, or a custom built gun from original AK47 parts kits on American made receivers (like they did in We Were Soldiers) or original AK47s (from foreign armorers) are seen representing the classic original AK47. BTW, I just tilted the image straight and color corrected it for now, but I agree with MT2008. I will start looking for a good AK to photograph. MoviePropMaster2008 04:05, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
