Death Race 2
Death Race 2 is the 2011 DTV prequel to the 2008 feature film remake. Directed by Roel Reiné, the film stars Luke Goss as Carl "Luke" Lucas, the driver who would become the original "Frankenstein", the character Jensen Ames (Jason Statham) replaced in the 2008 film. Many of the heavily modified cars seen in the 2008 film make a return appearance here, including the Porsche 911 driven by 14K (Robin Shou). Many of the characters would return in a second DTV prequel Death Race 3: Inferno. The film was produced in South Africa, thus many of the weapons seen here appear to be of South African origin.
The following weapons were used in the film Death Race 2:
Non Race Weapons
M4A1 Carbines fitted with Surefire lights, foregrips and ACOG sights are carried by the guards of the Terminal Island Correctional Facility.
Due to the film's production in South Africa, the Vektor Z88, the South African copy of the Beretta 92FS, appears to be the handgun used throughout the film in lieu of the Beretta, notably when a Chinese triad hitman is seen holding a suppressed pistol at the film's end.
The Vektor SP1 appears to be the handgun used by both the armed bank robbers and bank security.
A Remington 870 with a pistol grip is used by one of the bank robbers.
Another one of the bank robbers opens up with an Armscor BXP submachine gun (manufactured in South Africa, where the production was filmed).
Prison guards are seen carrying the FN Minimi as the drivers inspect their vehicles.
