Dead Bang is a 1989 thriller starring Don Johnson as Jerry Beck, a homicide detective with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department who while investigating the murder of a fellow deputy uncovers a conspiracy involving white supremacists. The film was directed by John Frankenheimer and was inspired by an actual case.

The Browning Hi-Power is the preferred weapon of multiple characters in the film.

The Browning HP is loaded and chambered at the film's beginning.
The killer at the beginning holds his Browning Hi-Power on the convenience store clerk.
The shooting as seen in the security mirror. Trivia: An example of using camera angles to safely "shoot" an actor at close range. The image is distorted by the convex mirror, but the actor playing the killer is aiming away from the victim (who is 'squibbed' with blood hits). He is 'shooting' his blanks towards the far end of the counter.
The killer pulls the Browning HP 9mm on Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy Sgt. Kimble (
Mic Rodgers).

Several of Chief Dixon's deputies carry 14" barreled AR15 carbines, most likely the Colt Model 653. The carbine is also held by Chief Dixon (Tim Reid).

Guards at the Aryan compound all carry full stock AK47 rifles. They don't have the Chinese AK hoods so they are likely true AK47s or accurate clones.

An Ithaca 37 is seen mounted in the squad car driven by Chief Hillard (Brad Sullivan) and later used by Jerry Beck (Don Johnson) at the gunfight at the abandoned house.

When he travels to Bogan, Oklahoma, Beck goes to the Sheriff's office, where Chief Elton Tremmel (William Traylor) has a variety of weapons hanging on the wall or in his gun cabinet (makes and models to be determined).
Tremmel's glass gun cabinet to his left appears to have several shotguns and rifles mounted.
Browning M1919A4 (Flash Gun Mockup)
During an escape, Burns (Frank Military) fires what appears to be a Browning M1919A4 machine gun from the back of a station wagon. In reality, this is an acetylene-firing 'fake' M1919-style replica.
Burns opens fire with the machine gun, which in reality is a mockup M1919-type of gas gun firing bursts of flames from its acetylene gas device.

Trivia
Seen in a brief role as a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy who talks to Beck at the murder scene is a young Garwin Sanford, who later would be known for his role as Narim (from the Tollan people) in the series Stargate: SG1.
