Young Sherlock Holmes is a 1985 mystery adventure film directed by Barry Levinson and written by Chris Columbus. The film is based on characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but the story is an original one, depicting young Sherlock Holmes (Nicholas Rowe) and John Watson (Alan Cox) meeting at a boarding school (in contradiction with Conan Doyle works) and solving a mystery of a secret cult.

Detective Sergeant Lestrade (Roger Ashton-Griffiths) holds a compact version of Webley RIC, maybe a Webley Metropolitan Police.

Lestrade uses his Webley to pistol-whip insane Chester Cragwitch who attacked Holmes.

Pistols

Remington 1866 Derringer

Professor Rathe (Anthony Higgins) fires a Remington 1866 Derringer in the climactic scene.

Remington 1866 Derringer - .41 R.F. Caliber. 4th model - Blued with black grips.

Rathe draws the derringer.

He fires at Holmes

Muzzles of the pistol are seen.

Flintlock Knee Pistol

Several patrons of the Lower Nile Tavern have Flintlock Pistols. They have small buttstocks and appear to be kind of "Knee pistol".

Flintlock "Knee Pistol" (a large pistol with small buttstock), Tunisia - 45mm (1.77 inch)

An Asian man at the right carries a "knee pistol" in his belt.

He draws the gun.

The muzzle of his gun is seen.

Tavern patrons threaten young Holmes and Watson with their guns and knives. An African in center and and Asian at the background hold "knee pistols".

Shotguns

Percussion Cap Blunderbuss

Khasek (Nadim Sawalha), the owner of Lower Nile Tavern, raises a Blunderbuss when he and the patrons of the tavern drive away young Holmes and Watson. The blunderbuss has percussion cap lock, and its details allow to guess that the gun was converted from a flintlock.

Double Barreled Shotgun

A Double Barreled Shotgun is seen in hands of insane bancker Chester Cragwitch (Freddie Jones).

Chester Cragwitch holds the shotgun, driving Holmes and Watson away from his estate.

Sawed-off Double Barreled Shotgun

One of the patrons of Lower Nile Tavern holds a Sawed-off Double Barrel Shotgun.

A Far Eastern man at the right holds a sawed-off shotgun.

The barrel of the shotgun is seen at the right.

The muzzle is seen.

Single Barreled Shotgun

What appear to be a Single Barreled Shotgun is briefly seen in hands of a cemetery doorkeeper.

The doorkeeper holds a gun. The single muzzle is seen.

The doorkeeper fires in air.

The gun is seen after the shot.

Trivia

Several Napoleonic era (or maybe of even earlier time) cannons are seen on the terrace of Cragwitch's estate.
