In "Indifference" (S4E04), Carol (Melissa McBride) is seen carrying what appears to be a Colt Detective Special in her waistband. She is notably seen using it in "The Grove" (S4E14). Tyreese also is seen with the revolver in the episode.

Carol uses the DS to put down the burning walkers in "The Grove" (S4E14). Despite the revolver's double action, she is seen pulling back the hammer after every shot. (Firing a revolver in single action mode is more accurate as the trigger pull is lighter and shorter and effects the stability of the gun far less than a long, heavy double action pull)

Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) continues to carry a Beretta 92FS as his main firearm in Season 4. Rick is seen returning the pistol to him in "Infected" (S4E02). Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) also carries one as his sidearm during the season. A survivor has a holstered Beretta 92FS on his belt in "Dead Weight" (S4E07). In "Alone" (S2E13), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) uses one during a fight with the walkers in the mist. While at Terminus, Gareth (Andrew J. West) is seen with a Beretta 92FS in Season 4's finale "A" (S4E16).

M4A1

The M4A1 is again seen used throughout Season 4, used by several characters. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) use M4A1 carbines in "Internment" (S04E05), to fend off several walkers. Mitch Dolgen (Kirk Acevedo) and Alisha (Juliana Harkavy) also carry M4A1 carbines in "Dead Weight" (S4E07). Several characters from both the prison group and the Governor's group wield M4A1 Carbines in the mid-season finale "Too Far Gone" (S4E08). Glenn takes up an M4A1 before leaving the prison in "Inmates" (S4E10). In "Claimed" (S4E11), Dr. Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) is firing an M4A1 wildly at some approaching walkers. The M4A1 that Porter uses appears to be a loaded with a 40-round PMAG magazine. An inhabitant of Terminus is seen using an M4 type carbine with a magpul stock and Eotech holosight in "A" (S4E16).

In "Claimed" (S4E11), Tony, the marauder who takes the bed Rick was previously sleeping on, is armed with an M16. An inhabitant of Terminus is also seen with an M16A1 in "A" (SE4E16).

The original M16, the first version, firing in a 20-round magazine, adopted in large numbers by the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. This has the original 3-prong flash hider. It would later be replaced by the upgraded M16A1 - 5.56x45mm

In "Claimed" (S4E11), Tony is armed with an M16.

In "Us" (S4E15), Tony carries the rifle.

Colt Law Enforcement Model 6920 Carbine

What appears to be a Colt Law Enforcement Carbine fitted with MAGPUL furniture is used throughout Season 4. The rifle is seen in the hands of Glenn (Steven Yeun), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), and Beth (Emily Kinney).

AR-15 "Dissipator"

Bob Stookey uses what appears to be AR-15-type rifle that appears to be a "Dissipator" carbine, fitted with an A2 buttstock and magpul PMAG 30 round magazine in the mid-season finale "Too Far Gone" (S4E08). Like many rifles in The Walking Dead, it has no sights, making it extremely hard to hit a moving target.

Steyr AUG A1

Phillip Blake, aka The Governor, carries a Steyr AUG A1 during a hunting trip in "Dead Weight" (S04E07). It is unknown if this is supposed to be the weapon he carried during the third season, since he wasn't seen with it in the previous episodes of Season 4 (though it is likely since it may have been left in the truck Martinez took from the Governor and ultimately ended up at the camp with). The weapon is likely meant to be a full-auto conversion of an AUG SA, a semi-automatic variant of the A1 which was imported to the US for civilian use before being banned in 1989. Fully-automatic AUGs are extremely rare in the United States, as unlike the M4A1 they are not military issue and are not used by any law enforcement entities apart from US Customs and Immigration Enforcement. The civilian variant of the AUG is the AUG A3 SA which has a newer design than the A1.

Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine

What appears to be a Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine is carried by Harley, one of the "Claimers" confronted by Daryl in "Alone" (S4E13). In "Us" (S4E15), Harley uses the bayonet on his rifle to kill a walker that got stuck on the barbed wire perimeter that Harley's group used to protect their overnight encampment. One of the Governor's men uses what appears to be a suppressed Uzi in "Too Far Gone" (S4E08). Upon closer inspection, this weapon appears to be a Umarex .22 caliber version of the submachine gun with its long barrel that could be mistaken for a suppressor. In "Claimed" (S4E11) Rick (Andrew Lincoln) obtains one from an enemy and carries it with him leaving the scene but never fires it.

A Remington 870 shotgun makes a return appearance being fired by an elderly former Woodbury resident in "Infected" (S4E02). Daryl Dixon takes the shotgun from the elderly man, and gives it to Rick, who uses it until it runs out of ammo. In several episodes, Joe (Jeff Kober) carries a Remington 870 with the stock covered with rigging tape. Joe's shotgun is visible notably in "Alone" (S4E13), when he confronts Daryl as well as in "Us" (S4E15).

M60 Patton

First seen in "Dead Weight" (S4E07), Mitch has a tank that he apparently drove around no problem. This tank appears to be an M60 Patton, a US tank primarily used by the US military from the 1960s to the 1990s, and was retired from service in 1997. The tank is prominently seen in "Too Far Gone" (S4E08) and was rented by the production from a private collector.

In "Dead Weight" (S4E07), the tank is seen in the survivors' camp.
