Verdun
|
Verdun is a multiplayer FPS set in the First World War. The game takes place on the western front between 1914 and 1918, in one of the bloodiest conflicts in world history. The developers were inspired by the infamous Battle of Verdun France in 1916. The game includes many historically accurate features such as realistic WW1 weaponry, authentic uniforms and maps based on the real battlefields of Belgium and France.
The game features the following squad types:
- Entente
- Poilus: Led by a Caporal, the French Poilus are provide accurate rifle fire. Its officer has the ability to designate an area for artillery/mortar strikes.
- Chasseurs: French light infantry unit who are fast moving. The Chasseurs' task is reconnaissance. Its officer calls in recon planes to detect the enemy troops by displaying their locations on the mini-map for a short period of time.
- Tommies: The main British attack force, led into battle by a Corporal. The Tommies are the Entente Powers all-round squad type, supported by artillery fire.
- Canadians: Considered by the German army to be the most dangerous enemy force on the western front, the Canadian assault unit is lightly equipped with grenades and rifles. They can call in gas artillery to cover their advance.
- Central Powers
- Landsers: The German Rifle Squads’ main strength is in advance under MG 08/15 support. Its officer has the ability to designate an area for artillery/mortar strikes.
- Alpenjägers: German mountain infantry who are lightweight and focused on observation. Its officer calls in recon planes to detect the enemy troops by displaying their locations on the mini-map for a short period of time.
- Stoßtruppen: Formed in response to trench warfare, elite lightweight units fought using infiltration tactics, grenades and experimental weapons. They can count on increasingly powerful chemical agents to harass the enemy and cover their infiltration
Pistols
Luger P08
The Luger P08 appears as the "Pistole Parabellum 1908 Luger" and is the standard sidearm for the German Non-Commanding-Officers class.
Luger P08 Artillery Model
The Luger P08 Artillery Model appears as the "Lange Pistole 08 Ari-08" and is used by the German Pionieer squad. (HoW Dlc)
Mauser C96
A Mauser C96 is seen in the Main menu. The HoW Expansion brings the playable C96 in. It apperas as the "Mauser C96 Besenstiel".
Reichsrevolver M1883
The Reichsrevolver M1883 appears as the "Armeerevolver M/83 Reichsrevolver" and is available for the German Squad. After a shot the hammer must pull back. (HoW Dlc)
Star Ruby
The Star Ruby appears as the "Pistolet Automatique Ruby" and is used by French forces.
Mle 1892 Revolver
A Mle 1892 Revolver is also seen on a table in the main menu. The HoW Expansion brings the playable Mle 1892 in. It apperas as the "MAS M1892 Lebel Revolver"
Webley MK VI
The Webley MK VI appears as the "Webley Mk VI Revolver". The Trench Raider squad's Webley has a bayonet.
Webley & Scott Mk I
The Webley & Scott Mk I appears as the "Webley Self-Loading Pistol Mk. I". (HoW Dlc)
FN Model 1900
The FN Model 1900 apears as the "FN Browning Model 1900" and is available for the Belgian squad. (HoW Dlc)
Colt M1911
The original Colt M1911 appears as the "Colt M1911" and is the standard sidearm for the U.S. officer ingame. Also the Canadian squad can use this pistol.(HoW Dlc)
Rifles
Mauser Gewehr 1898
The Mauser Gewehr 1898 appears as the "Gewehr '98" and is the standard infantry rifle for the German forces. It can be equipped with a M1898/05 Seitengewehr bayonet and a French APX Mle 1917 Scope. The Mauser can be reload with a 5-round stripper clip or round by round. Some Gewehrs can also be equipped with a 20-round Grabenmagazain.
Mauser 98AZ Carbine
The Mauser 98AZ Carbine appears as the "Karabiner 98AZ". The Rate of fire is higher than the Gewehr '98.
Mauser Gewehr 1888/05
The Mauser Gewehr 1888/05 appears as the "G.P.K. Gewehr 88 Kommissionsgewehr". The G88 is the model of 1905, recognizable by the receiver. The Carbine of the G88 is also available.(HoW Dlc)
Berthier 1892 Artillery Carbine
The Berthier 1892 Artillery Carbine appears as the "Mousqueton Mle. 1892 Berthier" and has an accurate 3 shot magazine. It can only be reloaded when the magazine is empty.
Fusil Modèle 1916 Carabine
The Fusil Modèle 1916 Carabine appears as the "Berthier Model 1916" and has a 5 round magazine. Unlike the other Berthier rifles ingame the Model 1916 is reload with a 5-round stripper clip. (HoW Dlc)
Lebel 1886 M93
The Lebel 1886 appears as the "Fusil Mle 1886 M93 Lebel" and can be equipped M1886 “Rosalie” bayonet and APX Mle 1917 Scope.
Fusil Modèle 1907-15
The Berthier 1907-15 appears as the "Fusil Mle 1907-15 Berthier". Like the Berthier 1892 Artillery Carbine the Berthier has only a 3 shot magazine.
R.S.C. Mle 1917
The R.S.C. Mle 1917 appears as the "RSC 1917". (HoW Dlc)
Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III*
The Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III* is the standard infantry rifle for the British and Canadian forces ingame. It has a correct 10 rounds magazine and a high Rate of fire. It can be equipped with a M1907 SMLE Bayonet and a post war Aldis M1919 Scope.
Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III* (sawed off)
A sawed off Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III* is used by the British Trench Raiders.
Enfield Rifle No. 3 Mk. III
Ross Mk.III
The Ross Mk.III appears as the "Ross Model 1910 Mark III" and is the correct service rifle for the Canadian squad. (HoW Dlc)
M1917 Enfield
The M1917 Enfield appears as the "Enfield M1917" and is available for the U.S. Doughboys and the U.S. Marine Corps squads. The Enfield is reload with a 5-round stripper clip and a single round. (HoW Dlc)
Springfield M1903 Mk 1
The Springfield M1903 Mk 1 appears as the "Springfield M1903" and is also available for the two American squads ingame. (HoW Dlc)
Belgian 1889 Mauser
The Belgian 1889 Mauser appears as the "Mauser Model 89" and is the standard rifle for the Belgian squad. A Carbine version is also available as the "Mauser Karabiner 16".(HoW Dlc)
Submachine Guns
Bergmann MP18
The Bergmann MP18 is the only submachine gun in the game and appears as the "Maschinenpistole 18/I". It has a high rate of fire but the gun is only effective in close range.

Maxim MG 08/15
The Maxim MG08/15 appears as the "Maschinengewehr '08/15".
Bergmann MG 15n. A.
The Bergmann MG 15nA appears as the "Bergmann Model 1915n. A." and is the standard lmG for the German Schützen squad. (HoW Dlc)
Maxim MG 08/18
The air-coold version of the Maxim MG08/15 the Maxim MG08/18 is also available for the German squads. Appears as the "Maschinengewehr 08/18".(HoW Dlc)
Madsen M1902
The Madsen M1902 LMG appears as the "Madsen" and is available for the Germans. It's the only light machine gun that can fired from the hip. (HoW Dlc)
Chauchat
The Chauchat appears as the "Fusli Mitrailleur Mle 1915 CSRG Chauchat" and is the LMG for the French forces.
Chauchat M1918
The Chauchat M1918 is the .30-06 American Conversion. Appears as the "US CRSRG .30-06 M1918 Chauchat". Ingame nickname "The Worst". (HoW Dlc)
Lewis Gun
The Lewis Gun is the LMG for the British forces ingame and appears as the "Machine Gun Model 1914 Lewis".
Hotchkiss M1909 Mk.I
The Hotchkiss M1909 Mk.I appears as the "Hotchkiss M1909 Benét–Mercié" is the lmG available for the American, British and Belgian squads. (HoW Dlc)
Vickers MK1
Some destroyed Vickers MK1 Machine Gun machine guns can be seen on the battlefield. They are unusable for the player.
BAR M1918
The BAR M1918 appears as the "Browning Automatic Rifle M1918 BAR". Available for the U.S. squads. (HoW Dlc)

Winchester Model 1897
The Winchester Model 1897 appears as the "Winchester Model 1897 Trench Gun". Available for the U.S. squads. (HoW Dlc)

The Wechselapparat M1917 is the only flamethrower in the game and is used by the German Pionieer Squad. Appers as the "Wechselapparat M1917 Wex". (HoW Dlc)

Model 15 Stielhandgranate
The standard grenade for the German Empire is the Model 15 Stielhandgranate. Appears as the "Stielhandgranate M1915".
Model 17 Stielhandgranate
The Model 17 Stielhandgranate appears as the "Stielhandgranate M1917". The German Pionier suqad has a two Geballte Ladungen one with 6 and 9 warheads. (HoW Dlc)
Model 17 Eierhandgranate

F1 hand grenade
The F1 hand grenade is the standard grenade for French forces and the U.S. squads. Appears as the " Grenade Mle 1916 Billant F1".
Mills Bomb
The Mills Bomb is the common grenade for the British Commonwealth. Appears as the "Mk 1 No. 5 Mills Bomb".
No. 34 Egg Grenade
The second grenade Available for the British suqads is the "No. 34 Egg Grenade".
