RE G36K

The Dragon/SuperDragon has little to no resemblance to the G36K Chances are that it is a completely different weapon design with influences from the M16 (Ejection port, magazine, and carryhandle). Also The Falcon 2 has much more resemblance to the Double Eagle then the AMT Hardballer, that "laserlock" sight is not part of the Hardballer system and is an addon. --AdAstra2009 01:45, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Look at a picture of the Colt Double Eagle and the Falcon 2, they look exactly the same --AdAstra2009 02:00, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

just because it's scope is the length of the whole pistol does not mean it's a reference to Terminator --AdAstra2009 02:09, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
now compare the grip to this and the how the frame where the trigger guard is gradually rises until the end of the slide http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg169-e.htm --AdAstra2009 02:28, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: KF7 Soviet

If you look at the front sight of the KF7, it looks more like the hooded front sight of the Norinco-series AK's, a main distinguishing feature of that weapon. As for the M16, the M16A3 is the full-auto version of the M16A2, with the A2 firing only 3-shot bursts. For the RPG, the Type 69 has only a single pistol grip (whereas the RPG-7 has two). As for the 'giant grey cylinder' look, I can't say anything except for creative licensing on the part of the game designers. Hope this explains the logic behind my calls on that page. Perfect Dark

Just to inform you, the reason Perfect dark was deleated was the fact that the page wasn't very good and the consensus on the forum was to remove the page until such time as someone could create a proper page for the game. Although the priority on Perfect dark is very low due to members having much more popular pages to work on. Rockwolf66 07:40, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Einhander

I would err on the side of caution. I would probably NOT delete the page if there is ONE verified real gun on it. We can't seem like hypocrites. There are movie pages on IMFDB which have only ONE gun on them, but they're still there. As long as the page look decent I wouldn't worry about that particular one.

RE: fantasy weapons in general ....... The author of Einhander, should, realize though that IMFDB strives to identify REAL GUNS, not fake guns. I had a list of the criteria of fake guns that we accept (a) it must be something based in real life (b) It must be realistic enough to confuse the general public who might 'wonder' of it is based on a real gun (c) It must be a fantasy weapon with a real gun inside (movies/tv only) or (d) there must be something about the weapon which will make the public think it's real or possibly real. That is why we have an entry for ERASER's rail gun. Too many idiots in the general public kept on asking us "Is that for real?" But something like a Star Trek phaser is off limits. No one in their right mind would think that's real or based on a real weapon. Hope this helps. MoviePropMaster2008 19:09, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Keep Cool

Now play nice the both of you or it could be bad. Just letting you know. -Phoenixent

No Halo real guns

I see the resemble, but the ammo magazine is in the wrong place compared to the Halo Sniper rifle. I can see how you can tell it's the same Excalibur01 08:13, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Guns

Try not to mention artillery, I believe there is a difference between firearms and cannons and RPGs, but people just love to point them out. For fictional guns, obviously a gun in a game that fires ICE isn't a firearm at all. People here really hate it when people even put down weapons that don't exist. I mean if you see a gun and it looks like a customized verison of a real gun or a slightly dressed up, it's fine, but no alien blasters or laser guns. I mean if you watched a movie and they are using real guns to "fire" laser beams, then it's ok since the prop itself is a real gun. Excalibur01 08:53, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey, Check out one the pages I did A Slight Case of Murder and let me know how it looks and if it's incorrect let me know. Thanks - Phoenixent

Alien Ressurrection

Thanks! for the great info! I moved the discussion to the Discussion page. I believe that we should still not delete the entire page, in that we are here to educate the public and there have been enough people who openly wondered what real guns the movie's weapons were based on. If we were to just have no pages for these movies, then these questions go, essentially, unanswered. Great to see you here! MoviePropMaster2008 01:58, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Your Question

The same reason it's called .45 ACP and not .452 ACP.In short I'm not sure, I mean the Russians sure get specific with their rifle rounds; 7.62x39mm, so I'm not sure sure why it's only 9x18mm. Just one of the idiosyncrasies of having so many different people manufacture and design ammo. Same thing with the true 9mm, the .380, it had a bullet diameter of 9.0mm, but in standard its .355 not .380.

I deleted your Tim and Dongs profiles, so don't lose your password this time, you don't need three user names :). I also moved the discussion text from your previous user name here. - Gunmaster45

Captions in Far Cry 2

I love the captions you put in the Far Cry 2 Article. They are great. I loved the Apocalypse Now reference in the last picture screenshot of the Mk.19. The refenrence was perfect. Great job, Dongs!-Oliveira 16:16, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

You, sir, are a genius.-protoAuthor.

RE: FC2 SVD

I just noticed the forend and the "X" shape in the magazine like the FPK/PSL rifle. Granted it was about 5:00 in the morning when I wrote the comment, so I might have been a little distracted. Looking in better detail now, I see what you mean. BTW, excellent job with Far Cry 2, it is probably the most complete VG page on IMFDB, and I love the commentary. It isn't wiki-page format to opinionate comments but I hate the rule, because sometimes these mistakes must be mocked! You may notice on some of my pages (like Payback) I comment on a lot of the stupid mistakes made. Also, after looking at the screencaps for the game, you've sold me on it. I have to buy this game now. - Gunmaster45

Template

Hey Vangelis, I really like the Incomplete Template you made, it's very creative and useful. Plus, I also want to say awesome work on your Far Cry 2 page, it's one of the best videogame pages on the site now, plus I really like your captions, they're hilarious. Keep up the great work.--Alienqueen11 03:52, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Humor Help

Dongs, could you touch up the We Were Soldiers article with your magic humor? Please?-Oliveira 19:24, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Blackout

I shamefully admit I did indeed ID his refueling probe as a gun. I was using wikipedia as my main source, and it said the helo was fitted with a GE M134, so I assumed the front part was. So feel free to make any corrections. - Gunmaster45

I moved the section on Brawl to the discussion section because after I finish the main page (which I just about am), I'll go back through the movie and grab screencaps of all the Transformers in vehicle and robot forms. With the help of the special features on the second disc, I can expand on the information and put in a Transformers guide. This will be too big for the main page, so I'm putting it in the discussion (much like I did for the Punisher (2004) page). Feel free to help me out with the vehicles and such when I get to it. One last thing, if the GE is one of the door-mounted guns, what gun is supposed to be mounted on his arm, a Vulcan? - Gunmaster45
Okay, thanks for the help. - Gunmaster45
You expanded on it much more than it had been originally, but when you make gun pages, put the images to the right. I'm still kind of disappointed that no one has taken up my style of the new box template (check out the SIG-Sauer P220 page). And fictional guns have quotations on them to indicate they are ficitonal. I think the Magnum Research revolver should probably be seperated from the article, because it isn't the same gun. Other than that, great job. I'm going to sleep now, because staying up all night makes me somewhat tired. - Gunmaster45

Max Payne 2

Sorry I made a mistake about the sight of the MP5 in Max Payne 2 ,thanks for correcting me. Added some screenshots which I could get from Gamespot.-SB2296

Dongs,right

Hey um if Crysis 2 is released, would you mind if I post guns in Crysis 2. - Kenny99

  • Why another article? And how come Crysis Warhead guns are posted in Crysis?!!! - Kenny99
  • How did you do the date thing and what time? I can't really do that. - Kenny99
  • Do you live in Europe as you are in bed while it is morning here. - Kenny99 16:01, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Halo

Oh good, now I won't feel guilty removing it. Halo features no real guns as far as I'm concerned and if Halo fans want to read stats on their fictional weapons, they can go to Halo fan sites and stare at them. This is a site for real guns. - Gunmaster45

Do you have MSN, Vangelis?-Oliveira 14:11, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
