I would wait until higher quality videos become available. I've seen a few of your pages get the "Low Effort" tag or get stuck in the "Work in Progress" stage due to not being able to get enough good screenshots. As for the light gun controllers, is it no longer possible for you to get to the ''Scarlet Dawn'' arcade machines anymore to take some photos of the controllers on your own? It would be best if ''Scarlet Dawn'' came out on PS4 so you could take screenshots using the screenshot function of that console. Come to think of it, didn't ''Time Crisis 4'' come out on the PS3 in Japan? If you had a copy of the game, a PS3, and a capture card you could get all the screenshots that page needs. --[[User:Mazryonh|Mazryonh]] ([[User talk:Mazryonh|talk]]) 18:42, 20 February 2018 (EST)

Some light gun games you may want to make pages for

Would it be at all possible for you to make pages for light gun games like Konami's Silent Hill: The Arcade or the Silent Scope series? Also, if you have access to the arcade cabinets for these games, could you also upload images of the light guns they use (assuming they actually resemble real guns)? I would argue that the light guns themselves are a part of the game since you aim with their iron sights to make shots on the screen.

By the way, you might not know this, but an arcade cabinet for Silent Scope 2: Dark Silhouette actually appeared in a TV show by James Cameron. Given the fact that you see the camera focus in on the "KONAMI" logo on one of the arcade cabinet's light gun controllers, it makes me wonder whether Konami paid money to have one of its games on the show or whether someone involved in the making of that episode was a Konami fan. --Mazryonh (talk) 01:18, 26 July 2014 (EDT)

It is a GOOD idea! I have already Identified firearms that appeared in two game series. but a clear image capture does not exist almost any game.

Silent Hill might be able to pickup the image from the official site. Silent Scope Official site is already closed. Procurement of the image is very difficult.

Personally, I want to create a page of The House of the Dead series, This game that is really really really like. Its very easy fabrication, image is also well aligned. --Seganamcofan (talk) 02:25, 26 July 2014 (EDT)

I hear that Silent Hill: The Arcade was recently ported to the PC, which would be one way to get screenshots. However, even just getting official screenshots and identifying the depicted guns would be relatively easy (again, see if you can take a photo of the actual arcade cabinet's light gun controllers). The Silent Scope series was also released for the PS2 and if you have a capture card you could get screenshots from the PS2 port (though sadly older Light Gun controllers don't work very well with modern televisions that aren't CRTs). Any reason you prefer Sega's and Namco's light gun games over Konami's? And are you going to make a page for the original House of the Dead arcade game? I don't remember seeing actual guns depicted ingame with that title.
I've seen some odd things come out onto the Light Gun game scene. Horror games aren't very scary if you can shoot down all the monsters, as Silent Hill: The Arcade showed (its "parent" series has much less gunplay). Then there's Elevator Action: Death Parade--an actual arcade sequel based on "Elevator Action" for the Famicom/Nintendo Entertainment System. Given Konami's experience with Light Gun games I'm surprised they haven't put one out for their Metal Gear Solid series yet.
The screenshot I was talking about is below:
You can still make out the KONAMI logo on the Silent Scope gun from this Dark Angel screenshot.
As some personal advice, keep working on your English. Knowing enough English to work overseas or for foreign companies in Japan is one way to get out of the Japanese "Lost Decade" (失われた10年) that was supposed to end in 2000 but clearly isn't over yet! --Mazryonh (talk) 17:16, 26 July 2014 (EDT)

Where are you going to get that many airsoft guns?

I've heard of Tokyo Marui as one of the largest Japanese Airsoft companies, but what companies are you looking to get all these favourites from? And how much do you think they will cost in total? --Mazryonh (talk) 22:14, 30 January 2015 (EST)

Hi,Mazryonh! I have not yet purchased a airsoft gun, but airsoft companies that are going to buy is already decided.

first, Tokyo Marui ttp://www.tokyo-marui.co.jp/index2.html Tokyo Marui is a very reputable company that provides a excellent product quality.
TM's product are slightly cheap price than other Airsoft company, because most of the material of the TM's Airsoft gun is plastic.
Also some corporate engraved has been changed to imitation (Beretta's Three arrow changed to Three sword, FN logo changed to "TM"). This change hate personally.
Some lacking reproducibility but, Tokyo Marui is very good choice for airsoft gamers and not recommend people who want to collection like Me. But I have no money, I'll buy the Tokyo Marui airsoft gun.

second, KSC ttp://www.ksc-guns.co.jp/ and Western Arms ttp://www.wa-gunnet.co.jp/
KSC has been line up the maniac gun than TM (Like TP9, HK33 series). WA has sold design of airsoft gun closer to the real guns than TM.
These Airsoft guns are expensive then TM (TM's MEU and WA's MEU for example, There is a difference of about 20,000 yen (about $ 200 in the dollar)), because material of the KSC and WA Airsoft guns are all metal, just like real guns.
WA is it corporate engraved and grip design of the gun is also almost same as the real gun, it's the biggest reason that I think trying to purchase any expensive.

All My Favorite handgun if purchased as blowback hand gun, it will be the expense of about 100,000 yen. But I want to possession of all these guns that are posted in my page... --Seganamcofan (talk) 03:01, 31 January 2015 (EST)

How about getting the models you want secondhand? They wouldn't have put an anime like Stella Women's Academy, High School Division Class C³ on TV unless there was a substantial Japanese airsoft community, so there should also be a large secondhand airsoft market over there too. I do hope anyone inspired to take up airsoft from that show has the common sense to NOT emulate its characters by wearing only the safety glasses and not full airsoft helmets--airsoft BBs ending up in your nose or ears can be pretty harmful.
Avoiding corporate trademarks seems to be a new trend for Tokyo Marui. And what are "maniac guns"? Are they just very expensive? Or do they replicate the action of the actual weapons, such as slides moving back and forth on semiautomatic pistols?
You should save up and get something you really want to start your collection. Better to get something you'll treasure for a long time and build your collection slowly, rather than just a stop-gap you'll very quickly regret buying. --Mazryonh (talk) 09:49, 1 February 2015 (EST)
Personally, I want to avoid secondhand Airsoft guns. Because there is a possibility that illegal custom guns are sold. At the time I purchase the secondhand airsoft gun, there may be a possibility of committing the crime. I do not want this, so when I buy a airsoft gun, I'll purchase only unused guns.
TP9, HK33 series, S&W M945, Magpul FPG, Makarov, and TDI vector, KSC is a Japanese only airsoft company that line up these guns. So I explained KSC is company of "maniac guns".
This might be habit of Japan only, Most Japanese airsoft company is selling the "fixed slide gun". This is a low-cost model that does not move slide even when you fire a gun. Most of the fixed slide gun is sold for airsoft gamers. Of course, I do not like these guns.
Sorry, I don't know about Stella Women's Academy, I not interested to anime genres (I live in Japan though!). Anime that I had seen in the last earnest, but probably 2006's Pokémon. --Seganamcofan (talk) 12:22, 1 February 2015 (EST)

No, I didn't assume you were an anime fan; it's just that they wouldn't have put out three firearms-focused shows recently (they were Stella Women's Academy, High School Division Class C³, Upotte!!, and Survival Game Club!) if they didn't think the Japanese airsoft or firearms-fan community wouldn't be interested in those shows.

OK, "maniac guns" are airsoft models that are exclusive to one company (and correspondingly expensive)? I thought the term meant something like "suitable for realistic milsim" where the guns all have the same externally-moving parts as the real firearms do, are made of metal rather than plastic (except where the real ones have plastic or wood), and have magazines that will only fire the same number of BBs as the number of live rounds that the real magazines can hold (what's the Japanese term for that kind of airsoft gun?). I find it hard to believe that an airsoft Makarov PM pistol (which in real life was one of the most widely-manufactured guns) would be so expensive though.

What exactly is an illegal customization on an airsoft gun in Japan? Does setting the FPS too high count? Are some airsoft gamers mounting real bayonets on their airsoft guns or something?

So most airsoft handguns in Japan have fixed slides? I thought that kind of feature would be common now. After all, didn't the arcade cabinet for the first Time Crisis game have light gun controllers with slides that moved every time you pulled the trigger? That game was released in 1996!

Do you mind if I ask some more questions via e-mail instead? This website has a function that lets users send e-mails to one another without having to make those e-mail addresses public. --Mazryonh (talk) 08:10, 4 February 2015 (EST)

"OK, "maniac guns" are airsoft models that are exclusive to one company (and correspondingly expensive)?" Yeah, that's right. But, the actual price of KSC's compact handguns is a seems not too expensive.
"What exactly is an illegal customization on an airsoft gun in Japan?" In particular higher Muzzle Velocity customization. there are many Bad guys are doing this customization.
"So most airsoft handguns in Japan have fixed slides?" No,Fixed slide handgun is not the main product. Actually blowback handgun is mainly sold.
Do you mind if I ask some more questions via e-mail instead? Sorry. It is impossible. I would like to talk with people like you in only this page. --Seganamcofan (talk) 08:52, 4 February 2015 (EST)

I see. Anyway, I was hoping you might know whether videogame-based guns like Ebony and Ivory, or the Silver Ghost, or an AM-69 are available for purchase in Japan?

There are plenty of people in the west who increase the muzzle velocity of their airsoft guns because they want more range, or because they regularly deal with cheaters who have to be made to feel the hits. You can check out an example of how common cheating can be here.

Thanks for your information. --Mazryonh (talk) 05:03, 6 February 2015 (EST)

Light gun games by Capcom

I know your user page says you prefer light gun games by Sega and Bandai-Namco, but is there any chance you could make pages for light gun games developed by Capcom? Something like Resident Evil: Gun Survivor 2 shouldn't be difficult since there aren't that many guns in that title. --Mazryonh (talk) 23:47, 18 August 2015 (EDT)

Gun Survivor 2 is basically same to Code Veronica, so appearing guns are basically same. According from Wikipedia, Calico and Marlin MR7 are removed. Instead, explosive bow gun and Panzerfaust 3 are added in the PS2 version. --Seganamcofan (talk) 13:15, 19 August 2015 (EDT)

House of the Dead series

I'm going to assume you will be completing all of these new pages you've created. --Funkychinaman (talk) 09:05, 5 November 2015 (EST)

You mean, These HOD pages is still incomplete? If do so, I apologize... --Seganamcofan (talk) 09:43, 5 November 2015 (EST)
You still have WIP tags on all of them, and three of them are still missing caps. --Funkychinaman (talk) 10:00, 5 November 2015 (EST)

Are you playing House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn over there in Japan? Can you make a page here for that game? --Mazryonh (talk) 15:32, 25 January 2018 (EST)

Yeah, I played that, and identified almost all weapon's. The player's (both cabinet gun and in-game) uses MP7A1 with 30 round magazine, tri-rail handguard, aftermarket foregrip (similar to BCMGUNFIGHTER Vertical Grip or Magpul MVG) as the standard weapon.
The player are also uses 5 rounds Milkor MGL Mk 1L stockless, 12 rounds Remington 870MCS Masterkey (Semi-auto), 1 round+Reloadable RPG-7 (Called ”Rocket Launcher Kai”) in some scene.
In the MASTER mode, which increased enemy's overall health, but player's can chooses 2 optional weapons. These weapons are 870MCS Masterkey hold (I think) 24rounds , (I think) 79's ”ALIEN” style Flamethrower, 5 rounds MGL Mk 1L, (I think) 5 M67 handgrenade, fictional laser handgun, and 4 rounds Carl Gustav Recoilless Rifle (I messed up. It's NOT Pansarskott m/86).
I know about what weapon's appearing in Scarlet Dawn, But I can't create proper English page. So... Mazryonh, Can You create the page instead by ME? I can upload some (4 or 5) screen shot later. --Seganamcofan (talk) 05:10, 11 February 2018 (EST)

I wouldn't mind making a page for Scarlet Dawn on this wiki, but I can't do so without actual screenshots, which are the backbone of this wiki since they allow the guns and other weapons to be identified. I don't think getting photos of the arcade machine screen will help; can you get official screenshots from a promotional website or something like that, like you did for Silent Hill: The Arcade? You could start by getting a photo of the arcade machines' light gun controllers at least, but the screenshots of the ingame guns need to be fairly comprehensive to qualify for inclusion on this wiki. It would be easy for you if the game came out for PS4, because that console has an integral screenshot-taking and video-recording ability.

By the way, since you're a HotD fan, maybe you'd like this video with a classic HotD tune. Since you're also a fan of light gun games, have you ever tried playing a strange light gun arcade title called Sailor Zombie: AKB48 Arcade Edition? I knew that the Japanese sometimes made strange arcade games, but I never thought that AKB48 was popular enough for a light gun arcade game. --Mazryonh (talk) 21:51, 12 February 2018 (EST)

I'll upload all of useful screenshots here.

--Seganamcofan (talk) 08:29, 14 February 2018 (EST)

Wow, SEGA put out a promotional video in HD resolution but not HD quality? Most of these screenshots (aside from the official flyer) are too blurry for inclusion, especially since the source material isn't an old film or intentionally made in low-quality. Since you say you've been playing the arcade machine for Scarlet Dawn, could you at least take some good photos of the arcade controllers shaped like MP7A1s? It would be a good start for the page. As an example, the below screenshot is taken from a TV show that showed the light gun controllers for Silent Scope 2: Dark Silhouette. --Mazryonh (talk) 21:01, 18 February 2018 (EST)

You can even see the "KONAMI" logo on the side of the light gun.
"SEGA put out a promotional video in HD resolution but not HD quality?" Absolutely, I took ss from official stream video I know about stream is decreases video quality, But I think it's most better sources at now.

Time Crisis 5

Are you actually going to complete the page for Time Crisis 5? --Funkychinaman (talk) 11:30, 6 January 2016 (EST)

Should be WIP? Its still no screenshot for some weapons. --Seganamcofan (talk) 12:17, 6 January 2016 (EST).
If you're still working on it, and you should be, then it can be WIP. If you can see a weapon clearly enough to make a proper identification, then you should have a screenshot for it. If you created an incomplete page with no intention of completing it, then it will be deleted. --Funkychinaman (talk) 13:08, 6 January 2016 (EST)
OK, I'll change it to WIP. --Seganamcofan (talk) 22:33, 6 January 2016 (EST)
