Uploading Screenshots

Were you planning on putting the screenshots you uploaded to your user page on the actual film pages? You uploaded a lot of them that only seem to be on your own page. I would suggest using VLC player to grab screenshots. --Ben41 (talk) 19:00, 9 September 2013 (EDT)

I have been using VLC player to get screenshots from films. I just put the uploads on my page until I make some more contributions to the website. When I have I will take them off my User Page. --Gunfan2818 (talk)

F&F 6

What's your source for these Fast & Furious 6 screenshots? --Funkychinaman (talk) 22:22, 22 September 2013 (EDT)

A Friend of mine who lives in London sent me a copy it --Gunfan2818 (talk)

Per the Rules, the screencaps not from trailers can only come after the US release date. According to a quick check online, the US release date is sometime in December. --Funkychinaman (talk) 22:31, 22 September 2013 (EDT)

Well I won't upload the rest and wait to add the ones I have already uploaded to the page --Gunfan2818 (talk)

In the meantime, can you tag the ones you have uploaded with [[Category: Screenshot]]? Thanks.
FYI, it's most likely that a user will be redoing the page with Blu-ray screenshots, so there's a chance that your screenshots will be replaced. --Ben41 (talk) 04:06, 23 September 2013 (EDT)

Screenshots

Please make sure to categorise your screenshots by adding {{SS}} to the upload form in the summary box. Evil Tim (talk) 12:22, 7 November 2013 (EST)

You don't need to put parenthesis around the {{SS}} when adding screenshots. --Ben41 (talk) 06:23, 17 December 2013 (EST)
To categorize, all you need to put is {{SS}} with no ( ). Your screenshots are looking better too. --Ben41 (talk) 15:38, 27 December 2013 (EST)

Screenshot Program

What program are you using to capture your screenshots? They appear to be a bit blurry. --Ben41 (talk) 20:15, 18 December 2013 (EST)

I was using VLC Media Player sorry about the blurry screenshots forgot to update the program --Gunfan2818 (talk)

You probably need to save your screenshots as PNG's first. For some reason, saving it as a JPG with VLC results in a low resolution shot. Go to the "Tools" column and click "Preferences". Click "Video" and go down to the "Video Snapshots" and where it says "Format", change from jpg to PNG. After you grab your screenshots, you can use a program like "Fast Stone Image Viewer" to convert the PNG's to JPG's and then you can delete your PNG files. Please check out the IMFDB Screencapping Guide for a more detailed instructions. --Ben41 (talk) 14:10, 19 December 2013 (EST)
One more thing, when you want to reply to someone who posted to your discussion, it's proper to reply on their talk page. --Ben41 (talk) 14:12, 19 December 2013 (EST)

Chaos

Thanks for the screenshots, but in the future, please upload the entire frame (looking at my DVD, it appears that the sides have been cut off). --Ben41 (talk) 19:39, 27 January 2014 (EST)

Strike Back Season 4

The cover that was there doesn't appear to be the official artwork yet. --Ben41 (talk) 16:33, 14 February 2014 (EST)

As far as I can tell, there has not been an official release date for Shadow Warfare in the US. Please don't change for now. --Ben41 (talk) 17:46, 14 February 2014 (EST)

Exit Wounds

Are your new screenshots for the film from an HD source? What are you using to capture the screenshots? I was going to redo these in HD. --Ben41 (talk) 15:40, 24 April 2014 (EDT)

I had originally done this page from my own DVD, so you are just changing a screenshot that was taken from the same source you are using. Unless you are going to get the Blu-ray version, I would not recommend changing out screenshots that I have done as these might be changed to the HD version in the future. --Ben41 (talk) 19:08, 24 April 2014 (EDT)
In the future, I would suggest that you try VLC with your video source and save them like I have pointed out on my user page or in the IMFDB Screencapping Guide. Your dimensions on your screenshots should come up to be like 1920x544px or 1280x720p or something more similar. When it's only 1024 x something, it's a little odd. --Ben41 (talk) 21:57, 24 April 2014 (EDT)

NCIS

Are you getting your screenshots for the series from a HD source? Because you're starting to go over the screenshots I put up that were from the official DVD. Your screenshots are of unusual dimensions and you haven't answered any of the past inquiries about the quality of your video sources. If your screenshots were HD, the dimensions should 1280 x 720px or 1920 x 1080px. The DVD dimensions are usually 858 x 480px. Please do not go over any more of my shots if they are not HD. --Ben41 (talk) 22:10, 28 August 2014 (EDT)

Are you using the screenshot capture button with VLC or using different program to capture? The VLC capture function will take the screenshot in the dimensions of the actual file. --Ben41 (talk) 08:34, 29 August 2014 (EDT)

You can go ahead to add new screenshots, but please do not overwrite ones I have already uploaded. --Ben41 (talk) 08:36, 29 August 2014 (EDT)

If you are using a Region 2 DVD, then 1024 is exactly the resolution that it should be. DVDs are only standard definition, and depending on the region they will be either NTSC which has a resolution of 858x480 (Region 1, used in USA), or PAL with a resolution of 1024x576 (Region 2, used in Europe), assuming the aspect ratio is 16:9. You will never get a horizontal resolution of 1280 out of a DVD, as this is only used in HD sources. --commando552 (talk) 09:41, 29 August 2014 (EDT)

Bad Company (2002)

The entry for "Kalashnikovs" still needs screenshots. Do you have any? Or did the OP mistake the Vz 58s for Kalashnikovs? And please tag your screenshots with {{SS}} or [[Category: Screenshot]]. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:30, 6 October 2014 (EDT)

NCIS LA

Are your sources for the series in HD? They look a bit blurry. The most common resolution for HD video is 720p or 1080p. --Ben41 (talk) 19:26, 14 October 2014 (EDT)

HD is preferable, but if you can only obtain SD sources, it is best to not capture the screenshot in full screen as the enlarged image will be blurry. As what was stated before, using VLC player is good for capturing in its original aspect ratio. --Ben41 (talk) 19:41, 14 October 2014 (EDT)

Bolt Action Rifles

For future reference, please consult the Bolt Action Rifle page to help ID rifles. --Ben41 (talk) 17:41, 3 November 2014 (EST)

New Episode Screenshot

Lately, a lot of your screenshots for the current seasons of NCIS that you have put up are being replaced because your screenshots do not appear from an HD source. Because the current seasons are available in HD, please try to upload your new screenshots from an HD source so you don't get all your work replaced all the time. Usually, the dimensions for HD is either 1920 x 1080 or 1280x720. Because your screenshots always seem to be in 1024x768 dimension, these appear to be only in Standard Dimension. --Ben41 (talk) 18:41, 18 November 2014 (EST)

Die Hard 2 screenshots

I don't want to keep overwriting your screenshots, but the quality should be better. Because you are working on one of the pages I have provided screenshots for, I will be more discerning about the quality and may continue to overwrite if the quality isn't better. I hope that you can find better sources before uploading any more screenshots for Die Hard 2. --Ben41 (talk) 20:37, 4 December 2014 (EST)

The Wire

The Blu-Rays for The Wire are coming out next summer. You might as well wait until then. --Funkychinaman (talk) 15:02, 23 December 2014 (EST)

Actor Titles

For your information:

{{Actor FTV Title}} template - the actor has used weapons in both film and television.

{{Actor Title}} - the actor only used weapons in film.

{{Actor TV Title}} - the actor only used weapons in television.

Please use template accordingly. --Ben41 (talk) 14:10, 3 April 2015 (EDT)

Barrett Foa

You recently added the page for Barrett Foa. Since the character in the series rarely uses firearms, it's better to post what shows the character used these in. --Ben41 (talk) 16:37, 27 February 2017 (EST)
