Nice job on the page!  I was actually planning on doing this movie myself (just saw it last night), but you did a great job, so I think it's all good.

One thing - the guns that you labeled as Norinco Type 84s have milled receivers - which the factory Type 84 didn't have.  They look to me like Vektor R4/R5 rifles that have been modified to look more like older-model AKs (the receivers appear very Vektor-like). -[[User:MT2008|MT2008]] 15:43, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the comment

I worked pretty hard to get The Devil's Rejects page in order. When I first went to the page all that was there was a list of firearms and brief descriptions. I added all those photos, but I didnt screencap any of them myself. Most are studio released screenshots or promo pics. I am going to try and screencap some pics myself from a verison of the movie I downloaded(not the best quality). But thanks for first comment I ever got on the site.--Mauser 17:41, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Re: LAR Grizzly

The LAR Grizzly Big-Bore is indeed a single-shot rifle, you have to reload after each shot. This can be seen in Tremors 2: Aftershocks when Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) loads the rifle. Orca1 9904 01:06, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

US Navy Mark 12 MOD X Special Purpose Rifle

I will try. I don't have one or access to one now, but I am visiting some of my peers who may have one. I have your pic request on my 'list of things to do'. best regards MoviePropMaster2008 01:45, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Perfect Dark

I was wondering why you removed the Heckler & Koch AG36 and the grenade launcher variant from Perfect Dark? Sci Fi Gunner 18:17, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: America's Army

Actually, if you look at the magazine curve of the AK-103/GP-30 compared to the magazines of the AKS-74U below it on the table, you'll see that the magazine loaded in the top AK is more curved than the AKS-74U's mags. As for the sniper rifle, the stock and handguard design match those of the FPK/PSL, which are noticably different than those of the Dragunov. Below are images of both rifles to show the differences:

Hulk

It's cool that you screencapped Hulk, but the page layout does not meet IMFDB standards. Please fix? -MT2008 23:56, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

What I mean is that the page needs:
(1.) Proper grammar and capitalization throughout, including the gun names ("Beretta 92fs"?)
(2.) Descriptions of the gun's use in the movie and, with it, links to the gun pages.
(3.) Pictures of the guns individually.
For instance, look at my page for The Incredible Hulk to see how I did it. When in doubt, you can always hit "edit" on another page and then copy-and-paste code for the guns as they appear on those pages. I'll help if you need it. Thanks. -MT2008 21:11, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
OK, I fixed it up a bit. Check it out now. This is proper format for IMFDB. -MT2008 22:15, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Great work on Dawn of the Dead(1978)

Great work. Looks good.

Smith & wesson 916A

Do you want a gun photograph of a S&W 916A? I have one in the warehouse, but it will take a few weeks to get to it MoviePropMaster2008 02:11, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Dragon is indeed a G36K

I've uploaded an image which makes the similarity clearer; sure, it's a very blocky G36K with a lot of parts either completely wrong or at least oddly placed [like the whole trigger group and reciever being dropped down by the width of the barrel shroud], but then the AR34 and Sniper Rifle are hardly going to win awards for being faithful reproductions of the FAMAS and WA2000 either. Dongs 01:40, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

  • There's plenty of resemblance. If you take into account that the whole rear of the gun is dropped by the width of the shroud, the trigger group and magazine well are very close. The barrel shroud is long and thin, the stock is a similar shape but upside-down, and the flash suppressor is identical to that of a G36K. Again, none of the weapons are that close to the ones they're based on; if you could find me a wood-furnished P90 with angular grips and a white magazine taking up most of the gun's midsection we can talk about how the Dragon isn't a G36K just because it's a mess.

The Falcon 2 is clearly M1911-derived, and only looks more like the Double Eagle because it's extremely similified; the identical sight indicates it's based on the AMT Hardballer Longslide from Terminator, so that's what should go there. Dongs 01:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
  • In addition, please stop reverting to a version of the page that includes a number of errors. Two people have added that it's a G36 to the article, entirely seperately of each other. This implies you should at least listen to the arguments to that effect rather than reverting it. Dongs 01:55, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Similar, yes, but the kicker is that the Falcon 2 was obviously designed with reference to a specific movie prop, so the resemblance to the Double Eagle is probably just because the Hardballer also looks like a Double Eagle. Colour the lever at the back of the Hardballer's slide black, and you get a black area the same shape as the grip of the Falcon 2. Dongs 02:05, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Hold on, I'll upload a picture that shows the resemblancer better; it's not that clear looking at the right-hand side of the prop, but the scope mount of the PD sight is virtually identical, as is the overall shape of it and the length relative to the gun. Dongs 02:11, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
    • Done. Granted, the mounting is turned backwards and the scope is the same at both ends, but you can certainly see what I'm talking about now, yes? Dongs 02:14, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
  • I wouldn't call that particularly conclusive, given the gross differences in some of the other guns [WA2000 scope, etc]. Certainly the Hardballer has to come first because it's obvious the most commonly depicted version [scoped, used in most promo renders] was based on a specific movie prop; I suppose the most obvious explanation was they thought the Double Eagle was the short version of the Hardballer and so we get a weird hybrid gun. I've already added a note regarding the grip shape to the article, you could probably add that in the same place. But again, Rare's N64 games aren't exactly renowned for accurate weapon depictions; neither gun has a grip which extends above the trigger. Dongs 02:37, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey AdAstra

I see you are screencapping alot of pages. That's nice, but you need to give the images captions and use proper grammar, man. You also need to put gun pictures into the sections. If you do that, then the pages would be complete.-Oliveira 21:17, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, but you need to put some kind of caption. Even if the captions are incredebly generic, there must be captions. The captions under the images are part of the format of the pages in this site.-Oliveira 21:33, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

America's Army 3 Screenshots

Hey, just saw the screenshots you posted on America's Army 3, where did you get them? Is the game out yet? Orca1 9904 02:05, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Goldeneye

Good job with Goldeneye Astra. You just need to put periods at the end of every description.-Oliveira 17:50, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
Thanks for adding all the extra screenshots to Goldeneye (including guns I missed), but please be sure that (1.) You are following proper format (screencaps should be 500-600px, not 800px), and (2.) That you use proper grammar, spelling, and gun page links. Thanks. -MT2008 01:26, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Goldeneye: 1911 type pistol

I think this is an MAS/MAC Model 1950, a French-made pistol that used to be their service sidearm (before they switched to a license-made copy of the Beretta 92F): http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg88-e.htm -MT2008 02:06, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Leon (The Professional)

Okay, will do. I'll add his grenades too, since they play more into the extended cut. I own the special deluxe edition. - Gunmaster45

Yeah, the Deluxe was $14.99 plus tax at Best Buy, I was actually lucky because they only had one copy of it. Right now I'll be uploading Running Scared for Predator20 and simultaneously helping him do Apocalypse Now. - Gunmaster45
Yeah, it's pretty shocking. Now Predator20 has finally taken up the task, which is good. - Gunmaster45
Would you mind if I replaced some of your screencaps with a single side-by-side? It saves space, like the three shots of Willy Blood's AP9 showing off continuity error. Three side-by-side shots as one image would still convey this in a more orderly fashion and reduce screencap repetion. If you'd rather I didn't, that's fine, but I'm just asking. - Gunmaster45

Re: RE X2 Frag Grenade

That's true, but in this case the body of the grenade is too thin to be the grenade you posted the link to, so the M84 would be the better comparison. Orca1 9904 04:16, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Re: X2 Miscellaneous Section

It just seemed to be a bit excessive for the main article to me, since the article is supposed to be covering the weapons used in the film, not extra stuff like that. I didn't delete anything, just moved it intact. Orca1 9904 04:33, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

AA Usernames?

Hey, I was just wondering what your username is in America's Army and America's Army 3, so I can add you to my battle buddy list and recognize you when playing online? My usernames are Orca19904 and Orca1, respectively. Would also like to check out your profiles to see how you've been doing in training in both games. Orca1 9904 23:53, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

What's the name of the soldier(s) you play as in AA3? Should have asked that instead of your username. Also, I just added you as a buddy on the AA2 page. Do you think you could get a first-person screenshot of the AN/M14 incendiary grenade for the America's Army page here? I haven't fully completed the SF training (escape & evasion is a pain in the ass) and can't get onto maps where they're used ("Snakeplain", for example). Orca1 9904 02:29, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Re: AA Screenshots

Just used the pics in the article. Very interesting find with the MP5SD, first time in the game I've ever seen OPFOR using non-Soviet weaponry. Were the OPFOR player or AI-controlled? If they were PC's, they could have picked one up from a fallen U.S. character. That's also the first submachine gun I've seen in actual gameplay. Orca1 9904 05:27, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Rather odd for a game that stresses and prides itself on realism to have a weapon "magically" turn into something else when its' user is killed. Orca1 9904 01:26, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

MP5A3 vs. MP5A5

Hey AdAstra,

This is a response to the message you sent me. I am afraid that I am unfamiliar with wiki based systems so this is my attempt at a personal message. Perhaps you can correct me, but it wasalways my understanding that the MP5A2/MP5A4 or MP5A3/MP5A5 designation did not solely rely on the selective-fire setting present on the trigger group, but on the model of the trigger group itself. To my understanding, the MP5A2/A3 used the S-E-F fire-settings along with a pistol-grip that incorporated "finger grooves" if you will. Also to my understanding, the MP5A4/A5 features the so-called "idiot-proof" picto-gram fire-setting markings, and comes in a variety of forms, including semi-auto only, semi- and burst-fire only, and semi- burst- and full-auto settings (burst here includes two- and three-shot bursts). The pistol-grip here is also different, withno "finger-grooves" and is instead of smooth plastic. Now once again, this is only to my understanding. I may be able to confrim this at another great site, HKPro, but it will probably have to wait until the weekend. That is, unless you can clear this up for me right here and now. Thanks in advance for your time and your response.SAWGunner89 03:49, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV - Heckler & Koch MP5A3

On the page for GTA: San Andreas, the Uzi was added to the list, even though it also only appeared in beta screenshots, and was not in the actual game. I added it to the page because I thought that it would be an interesting tidbit, but if you think it should be removed, that's fine. -Uzi870 04:43, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Seriously

If you are going to go and continually screw around with the page I created on the basis the weapons are "not real" then may I suggest you do the same for every anime, cartoon and video game out there? User:Charon68

RE:Steamboy

Is it anime or what? Why you hate anime? - Kenny99 00:16, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Fictional Weapons

Most agree fictional weapons can be added for trivial purposes and to confirm the weapon in question is fictional and not a prop. This does NOT mean games like Halo can be added, because they are computer generated designs with little to no real world influence. So movie fictional weapons can stay, but NOT video game or anime ones. That's my vote. - Gunmaster45

Well the partical cannon does have some obvious basis on the M60 machine gun. But really, if he was willing to the put the effort into it, it's his right as the page's biggest contributor to keep them for trivial purposes. You yourself don't have to do so, but since he made the page it is his little right. Like you add miscelaneous stuff, every contributor can add their own little touch to a page. - Gunmaster45

Operation Dumbo Drop

I was going to screencap this movie (gotta love the fact that they only released a lame 4:3 aspect ratio FULL FRAME version of this movie), but I must say I am impressed by your screencaps. They are clearer and sharper than the screencaps I was able to get from the DVD. I am glad you screencapped the film. MoviePropMaster2008 06:41, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

RE:

Can you give me the link for the FN BDA because I can't find it? - Kenny99 22:34, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

  • Have you evered played Time Crisis IV? If yes, I might need some editing. If not, I'll find others because I am bad at identifying some guns in video games.

Firearms you think are interesting

Your decision to put the QBZ-97 on the list of guns you think are interesting puzzles me. Could you please explain why you think it is interesting?

Day of the Dead Pics

Good job changing the low quality photos on Day of the dead they where pretty bad.

The Thing

Sorry last time I forgot to hit the signature button. Your right about those other pic, later on I will go and repost all of them. The reason why the frame isn’t full is because the movie is in widescreen so I get the black bars on top and bottom. I don’t think there is a way for me to format it so the widescreen appears full, and even if I did the pics would probably look distorted. I’m getting ready to place in all the screen caps I took for the The Devil's Rejects and delete some of the crappy pics I had fond on the net. --Mauser 04:05, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Re: America's Army

I actually switch between the two. I would play America's Army: True Soldiers too, but don't have a 360. I'm up to 28 honor on America's Army and 26 honor on America's Army 3. Wierd thing is, I'm only a Private First Class on AA with 28 honor, but I'm all the way up to Corporal with just 26 honor on AA3. I still can't find your AA3 soldier, by the way. Are you sure you gave me the name of the soldier you play, and not the username you use to log in? What server do you play on the most? Orca1 9904 05:25, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Night of the Living Dead

Its sweet now that the whole dead series (Not counting the upcoming one) are screencap. It was kinda wierd doing night because the film itself is very dark and grainy but the pics came out alright. I just finished screencaping The Thing, and next Im going to do They Live.

They Live

Yeah They Live kicks ass, but the page it has on here right now sucks. Its gonna take a little while but Ill let you know when Im done with it. --Mauser 04:12, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Re:

Actually, the Beretta seen on the Lethal Weapon 4 is definitely not the one used in the first Lethal Weapon. That's just a mistake that MoviePropMaster made when he uploaded the picture because he got confused what Mike Papac told him. The Beretta used in the first Lethal Weapon is actually, by most sources, the one that was also used in Die Hard (and that one is distinctive because of the fact that it has a custom extended slide release, though this was apparently added after Lethal Weapon for Bruce Willis' benefit, since he's a lefty).

Anyway, we're not 100% sure the Beretta on the Lethal Weapon 4 page was actually in that movie, but there's good reason to suspect it was. Remember that all of these movies had a common denominator - they were supplied by the same armory (Stembridge & Cinema Weaponry), and the armorer, Mike Papac, worked on all of these films. That makes it fairly easy to be sure that he would use the same gun repeatedly. -MT2008 03:18, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

That's just a mistake that MoviePropMaster made when he uploaded the picture because he got confused what Mike Papac told him.
Ahem, that's what MT2008 wrote. That's not true. I did not make a mistake. I was not confused. I told him exactly what the gun's owner, Mike Papac told me. In fact I was confused when I first heard it from Mike, but I usually don't question information from the gun's owner. So I just passed the info along. But I want to clear this up. Any confusion is from the source, not from me. :) I hate it when I get blamed for something I didn't do. ;) best regards MoviePropMaster2008 23:33, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

(here is a note I've been posting around IMFDB)

I recently had the unpleasant experience of having some of the performers being insulted in some of our movie pages see what some of the IMFDB members write. there are some pretty condescending remarks regarding horrible grips, gun stance, bad gun discipline and blinking while shooting. I'm trying to promote the website and it's embarrassing to see actors getting insulted for pretty trivial reasons. What are your thoughts regarding this?

See below:

I'm asking all members to stop with the sarcastic comments in the screencap descriptions Too many members feel it's funny to be extremely sarcastic about actor's shooting stance, their blinking, their pistol grips. Only if it's so over the top as for the average person to notice, then don't keep on harping on it. Most actors are given only a bare amount of time to train, if at all. Many times the editor picks the worst take for pistol grip, but best take for other reasons like acting. Also much of the blame falls on the director. Some directors don't want to be bothered trying to train the actors and don't allow us armorers to even give them more training than the minimum safety training. People in the industry check out this website, and some think we're a bunch of obnoxious kids. I am not happy when people in 'the biz' look at the site and scoff at the snarky remarks. Some of them are the actual actors being insulted. We can always put in criticism, but IMFDB members going forward going to criticize a film, should try to do so in a scholarly manner or not at all. Thanks for your cooperation MoviePropMaster2008 05:51, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

That just looks silly

That thing looks stupid. If we don't want users to talk about bad grips and all that shit, all we need to do is not talk about that. That censored stuff looks retarded. Instead of censoring, just don't mention the flinching. Problem solved.--Oliveira 17:38, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

They Live Completed

I am finally finished They Live. It turns out that there was a lot more firearms in that movie than I remembered lol. But you can check it out now if you want. --Mauser 09:00, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Robert Hays

If you're gonna create a Robert Hays page, you had better screencap Fifty/Fifty!!!! He fires a ton of weapons in that film! :) MoviePropMaster2008 23:25, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

RE: Crimson Rivers 2

I can't screencap anymore. I had to wipe everything from my hard drive and start from scratch due to viruses. I don't even have Word. I can't download anything either because my computer guy (who I believe was in Russian Spetsnaz during the Cold War) would pissed if I did, and I really don't want to do that-S&Wshooter 23:58, 12 October 2009

Score! I've been holding off uploading these because I'm still waiting on an image for the Heartbreak Ridge' page (their weapons are set up slightly differently) so I hope people will wait to update that page until I can get a good image for that page.

Say Hello to My Little Friend!!!

Scarface fans will crap in their pants. Got the ACTUAL screen used LITTLE FRIEND. Now I used black gaffers tape and taped two 30 round magazines together as best I could (to try to match the screenshots). Do you think that was smart? or should I just present it with a plain magazine? Anyway, I did that because I wanted people to see it as it was most seen in the movie (Wow that launcher is beat up, it's been 25 years after all since the movie was filmed!!!!) It is also the old launchers that were used before the Cobray 37mm launchers became prevalent.

Recognize this lovely? I've been waiting to get pics for the Predator page for a while. So many weapons have either been sold off or taken apart and reconfigured for other movies.

IMFDB is the only place in the WORLD, now that has these images. How cool is that? :) I got some screen used muskets from Last of the Mohicans (from private collections), which is interesting since I usually don't get many pre 1848 weapons. MoviePropMaster2008 03:32, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Wilcox LAM

Howdy!

I was wondering if you could create a page. I was hoping to get the Wilcox laser aiming module up. It could be linked from the MK23 page, Glock, USP as Wilcox industries all made mounts for those guns and even the M16. I can get links to the company, patent info, they stopped manufacturing the item in 2001 and are highly sought after today. Prices for the same specs vary widely, one unit I watched sold for $650 while another $3000. The "Nightstalker" was the flashlight module. It had adjustable brightness levels and could be controlled via paddle switch. The "So Smart" was the laser module. The lasers came in infrared and standard variety. And the flashlight also came in infrared mode. The version people are most familiar with was the 2nd generation where it had a battery covers on the side that screwed on that made for easy field change. The 1st gen had internal batteries. I can supply pictures etc. Interesting note was that the lam modules "communicated" with each other via a infrared remote system. Also the underside of the flashlight unit had a LCD read out of battery life as well as blink rate on the laser. It is said that Navy Seals had a squad of 8 and the laser had 8 different blink rates. I think the most famous use of the Wilcox lam was in the Metal Gear solid series. If you aren't up for the page making, feel free to pass it to whoever. any questions hit me up, [email protected], Thanks!

The caps are off the Special Edition DVD. I use VLC and I turn up the gamma and saturation before I start screencapping.
