This terminology is often used to refer to these launchers as a whole, despite the fact that this is actually one of the rarer configurations of the AG launcher with the main military adopter being United Kingdom Special Forces who acquired it to mount onto their [[L119A1]] carbines (designating it as the '''L17A1'''). The launcher mounts to the carbine by having a groove on the top of the frame which slides over the bottom rail on a standard railed handguard, and locks into place on the bayonet lug using a quick release latch.
