Unbroken is a 2014 biographical war drama produced and directed by Angelina Jolie. The film focuses on the life of Olympic athlete Louis "Louie" Zamperini (Jack O'Connell) and is based on the 2010 book Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. Louis Zamperini is the youngest member of the US Olympic Team in 1936 to participate in the Olympic Games in Berlin. Four years later, Zamperini is a favorite for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, which are canceled due to the outbreak of the Second World War. Zamperini voluntarily goes to war as a gunner of a B-24D bomber. After a crash landing in the Pacific, two airmen and himself save themselves on a raft. There, they fight for survival for 47 days before they are picked up and captured by the Imperial Japanese Navy. On the ship, they have to suffer sadistic humiliation, and the hardship for Louis continues on land, as Mutsuhiro Watanabe (Miyavi), the cruel commander of the prisoner of war camp, aims to break the defiant Zamperini
