The 1000 Eyes of Dr. Mabuse (Die 1000 Augen des Dr. Mabuse) is a 1960 psychological thriller, the last directorial project from famed German director Fritz Lang (M, Metropolis, You Only Live Once, The Big Heat). The investigations conducted by the West Berlin police into a number of murders, suicides and accidents converge at one point - at the Luxor Hotel.

Handguns

NHM Model 9

Cornelius' butler (Jean-Jacques Delbo) fires an NHM Model 9 revolver during a car chase. This is a continuity error since the same character holds a Dreyse Model 1907 seconds before.

Mondial Model 1900 Starter Pistol

Marion Menil (Dawn Addams) owns a nickel plated Mondial Model 1900 starter pistol depicting a live pocket gun. During the confrontation with Roberto Menil (Reinhard Kolldehoff), Henry B. Travers (Peter van Eyck) shoots the gun.

Roberto knocks the gun out of Marion's hands.

Travers picks up the pistol.

Dreyse Model 1907

Mabuse's henchmen - the hotel detective Berg (Andrea Checchi), the hotel engineer (Albert Bessler), and Cornelius' butler (Jean-Jacques Delbo) - use Dreyse Model 1907 pistols in several scenes. Dr. Mabuse (Wolfgang Preiss) himself also holds a Dreyse M1907. A Dreyse M1907 is Kriminalkommissar Kras' (Gert Fröbe) handgun.

Berg holds Travers and Marion at gunpoint.

Berg orders Travers and Marion to enter the secret room.

Kras loads his pistol.

Kras holds the pistol.

Dr. Mabuse (under the disguise of Prof. Jordan) holds a Dreyse.

Dr. Mabuse leaves his Dreyse to Travers and Marion who are locked in the hermetically sealed room and mockingly suggests them to choose - to suffocate or to shoot themselves.

The hotel engineer holds a Dreyse during the shootout with Mistelzweig.

Travers uses the gun that Mabuse left him, but in a different way than the villain planned.

The butler holds a Dreyse during the car chase. Next moment the pistol switches to an NHM Model 9 revolver due to a continuity error.

Walther PPK

Hieronymus B. Mistelzweig (Werner Peters) uses a Walther PPK during the shootout with Mabuse's henchmen in the hotel. During the car chase, Kriminalkommissar Kras (Gert Fröbe) is armed with a Walther PPK instead of a Dreyse Model 1907 that he lost during the previous encounter in the hotel (supposedly Kras takes a PPK from one of his subordinates).

One of the policemen on the bridge holds a handgun that seems to be a revolver.

Same policeman with a supposed revolver, and another one with a supposed pistol.

Submachine Guns

Sten Mk V

During the final car chase, No. 12 (Howard Vernon) fires a Sten Mk V, identified by the pistol grip and the front sights. The submachine gun lacks the foregrip and is fitted with a custom wooden buttstock of different shape than the standard one.

Rifles

Frühwirth Model 1872

Several policemen who are blocking the bridge can be seen wielding incredibly outdated Austrian Gendarmerie-Repetiergewehr System Frühwirth M1872 Carbines. These rifles have Mannlicher M1890 Carbine style barrels with the rear part of Kropatschek Rifles. Frühwirth carbines can be seen in a number of German films of late 1950s-early 1960s.

At least two policemen at the right hold Frühwirth carbines. Most policemen also carry pistol holsters that seem to be flat and empty.

Policemen on the bridge carry bolt action rifles of several models that are unclear.

Other Weapons

Fictional Rifle

No. 12 (Howard Vernon) shoots a fictional assault rifle that is described as a brand new gun that has been stolen from a research facility. It shoots thin needles. The movie prop is made from various parts, some of those are supposedly taken from real guns.

No. 12 takes the gun from the case.

He attaches the buttstock.

The needle ammunition. It is referred to as made from finest iridium steel and 38.4mm in length.
