The Wild East (original title is Дикий восток, Dikiy vostok) is a 1993 Kazakh post-apocalyptic "eastern" movie (inspired by the Seven Samurai / The Magnificent Seven and by the Mad Max), from the director of The Needle (Igla), Rashid Nugmanov. The story takes place in post-USSR territory, in a post-apocalyptic world, when an unnamed war lasts. The settlement of the Lilliputians, former circus artists, located in the place somewhere near the border with China, which is far from military operations, but the crime and marauding gangs are everywhere. The settlement is being terrorized by a gang of bikers, under the direction of "Skull". A gang defeated the local police, and then bikers kill one of the members of the community, while imposing upon them an exorbitant tribute. Two of the Lilliputians go in search of fighters to protect the village and find a guy named Strannik (Wanderer). He agrees to their proposal, and then convenes his team.

Note 1: this movie was internationally released, so, it's equipped with non removable English subtitles.

Note 2: while nearly all sites wrongly tell that this movie was filmed completely in Russian, the character named Mongol (the Mongolian) speaks only some Asian language. However, he was played by a Kazakh actor and this movie is Kazakhstan produced and filmed, so it's hard to say, if this language is Mongolian or Kazakh.
