The Son of Kong

Lighthearted sequel to the same year's King Kong. Carl Denham (Robert Armstrong) and friends return to Skull Island in search of lost treasure and encounter a white-furred "little Kong," who proves friendly and helpful to them.

Various Revolvers

The Venture's crew mutinies upon arriving at Skull Island. In overpowering Denham and those loyal to him, they employ a variety of revolvers and rifles.

A sailor sticks his revolver into Denham's back. Smith & Wesson?

Mutineer leader Red (Ed Brady) carries what looks like a Colt Single Action Army.

Red keeps his revolver aimed at Denham while laying down the law.

Red threatens to pistol-whip Captain Englehorn (Frank Reicher).

Another sailor's revolver peeks in from offscreen right as Hilda Petersen is held prisoner and Denham tries to reason with the mutineers.

Rifles

The mutinous sailors also use several rifles.

The crew watch as Denham and the others depart in one of the Venture's lifeboats.

Shotguns

Charlie the cook, who elects not to throw in with Red and the others, sneaks two shotguns aboard the lifeboat Denham (Robert Armstrong) and the rest are put ashore in. He and Captain Englehorn use them throughout their time on the island and Hilda Petersen also holds Denham's on occasion. Both shotguns come to bad ends.

Denham reacts to a spear thrown by the native chief (Noble Johnson) when the group comes ashore.

Denham is most put out by the chief's "welcome."

Englehorn keeps his shotgun close to him after Nils Helstrom attempts to grab it, because Englehorn doesn't trust him.

A Styracosaurus grabs Englehorn's shotgun in its mouth after trapping him, Charlie and Helstrom in a cave.

The three find the chewed-up shotgun after the dinosaur finally leaves.

Little Kong picks up Denham's shotgun after he sets it down upon finding the island's treasure.

Much to Denham and Hilda's dismay, Little Kong plays with the weapon, causing it to discharge. He eventually snaps it in half.
