The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes is a British-American 1970 comedy detective directed by Billy Wilder and starring Robert Stephens as Sherlock Holmes and Colin Blakely as Dr. Watson. The story uses Arthur Conan Doyle's characters but looks more like a parody of "classic" Holmes. The main storyline rotates around the case of a Belgian woman Gabrielle Valladon (Geneviève Page) and her allegedly missing husband, an engineer. Sherlock's brother Mycroft (Christopher Lee), German spies and even Queen Victoria are involved.

Revolvers
Webley RIC
A short barreled, nickel plated Webley RIC revolver is seen in several scenes.
Webley RIC "Model 86" - .455 Webley. This version of RIC is very similar to the screen gun.
The opening scene shows a dust-covered box with Holmes' personal belongings that is extracted from a bank vault under the will of Dr. Watson, fifty years after the latter's death. The revolver is seen on top.

Frightened Mrs. Hudson (Irene Handl) holds Holmes' revolver, waiting for the attack of uninvited guests.
Holmes (Robert Stephens) takes the revolver from Mrs. Hudson and explaines that the gun is unloaded.

Two antique guns are seen on the wall in a club on a promotional image. The gun at the left (1) seems to have a small buttstock and may be a "knee pistol" or even a small cavalry carbine while the gun at the right (2) is a pistol; both seem to be flintlock. In the movie itself this scene is seen from a different angle of view that doesn't allow to see the guns on the wall.
