The Nice Guys is a 2016 neo noir comedy co-written and directed by Shane Black. Set in 1970s Los Angeles, the film follows two down and out private detectives who together uncover a conspiracy while searching for a missing woman.

The following weapons were used in the film The Nice Guys:

Handguns

Smith & Wesson Model 36 (Nickel)

Holland March (Ryan Gosling) is seen with a nickel Smith & Wesson Model 36 revolver throughout the film.

SIG-Sauer P230

The pistol used by Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) during the house shootout appears to be a SIG-Sauer compact, possibly a SIG-Sauer P230. The P230 would be period-appropriate as it began production 2 years before the year of the film (1977).

Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) fires the pistol. Note the smooth, sloping contours of the trigger guard and rear of the slide, both of which look more akin to a SIG-Sauer than a Walther.

Walther P38

A Walther P38 is the handgun used by John Boy (Matthew Bomer) during a shootout.
