The Movies is a business simulation game developed by Lionhead Studios, where the player must build and maintain a Hollywood film studio from the 1920s to the present day.

The following weapons appear in the video game The Movies:

Overview

One of the features of The Movies is the ability to create custom films, featuring a large variety of scenes, sets, and props to choose from. The last does, of course, contain (fairly blocky) representations of most of Hollywood's staple firearms.

Handguns

Tokarev TT-33

A pistol strongly resembling a Tokarev TT-33 or Norinco Type 54 appears on one of the available title cards.

Norinco Model 54-1 export pistol - 7.62x25mm Tokarev
A true classic.

M1911

An M1911 with slanted slide serrations appears as the "Colt Pistol".

Auto-Ordnance M1911A1 - .45 ACP
A "gangster" holds their M1911 to the head of a car driver.

Webley .455 Mk VI

The Webley .455 Mk VI appears as the "Webley Pistol".

Webley Mk VI - .455 Webley
A close-up of a Webley.

Submachine Guns

M1928 Thompson

The M1928 Thompson appears as the "Tommy Gun".

M1928 with 50-round drum magazine - .45 ACP
A "gangster" fires his M1928 during a drive-by. Note that due to animation reuse he is holding it by the magazine rather than the foregrip.

Rifles

AKM

An AKM with a slab sided magazine appears as the "AK47".

AKM - 7.62x39mm
A "Vietnamese soldier" looks around with his AKM.

Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I

The Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I appears as the "World War II Rifle".

Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I - .303 British
A "British soldier" takes aim with his Lee-Enfield.

Mauser Gewehr 1898

The Mauser Gewehr 1898 appears as the "Mauser Rifle".

Mauser Gewehr 1898 - 7.92x57mm Mauser
"German soldiers" wait with their Gewehr 1898s, unaware that someone has left out the background.

M16A2

The M16A2 appears as the "M16 Machine Gun".

Colt M16A2 Rifle - 5.56x45mm
"American soldiers" fire their M16s in "Vietnam".

Machine Guns

Bren Mk1 (M)

The Bren Mk1 (M) appears as the "British World War II Machine Gun".

Bren Mk1 (M) - .303 British. Simplified version with no grip or butt strap on the stock and with dovetail mount on the left side of the receiver deleted, and a slightly different flash hider
A "German soldier" fires his "captured" Bren, grumbling that the armorer couldn't get an actual German MG. Note that the barrel is too short, barely extending beyond the bipod, and that the carry handle and sights are missing.

Lewis Gun

The Lewis Gun appears as the "Lewis Machine Gun".

Lewis Gun - .303 British
A "British soldier" waits with his Lewis Gun.
