Browning .22 Semi-Auto

When the Ambassador (played by Fernando Rey) shoots a toy dog on the pavement in front of his embassy, he uses a Browning .22 Semi-Auto; the original type with top-loding magazine and slim fore-end. It is fitted with a scope and a moderator.

He takes rifle from cabinet
... racks it
... and aims it out of the window

He holds it incorrectly - he'd get the hot case in the plam of his hand.
