Cosh

The "cosh", a small handheld impact weapon, possibly a blackjack or piece of pipe in this case, is mentioned in regards to an assault by Riley and Spud, and shown in use once.

Riley brings his arm back to swing...

... and brings the cosh down on the back of a constable's head; helmet seen in silhouette.

Also, in a later scene PC Dixon places his hand in his pocket before approaching an armed gunman - possibly to remove an impact weapon of his own since he carries no firearm?

What is PC Dixon reaching for?
