The Blacklist is a television crime thriller starring James Spader as Raymond "Red" Reddington, a master criminal who gives himself up to the FBI after avoiding arrest for several decades. In exchange for immunity, he has offered up a so-called "blacklist" of other criminals he has had an association with and is willing to locate them only if he works with Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone), a rookie FBI profiler. Joe Carnahan directed the pilot episode. The Blacklist: Redemption, a spinoff series, premiered in the US on NBC in February of 2017. The Blacklist premiered in the US on NBC on September 23, 2013. After ten seasons and 218 episodes, The Blacklist concluded its run on July 13, 2023.
