The A-Team is an American action televsion series that aired on NBC from 1983-1988. The show followed the adventures of a former US Special Forces team who, while serving in Vietnam, were convicted of a military crime they didn't commit. After escaping from a maximum security prison, they survived as soldiers of fortune in the Los Angeles underground. The show was known for its numerous gunfights where nearly no one was shot, and for its car chases where everyone is able to get out of their vehicles even after they experienced spectacular crashes.
The following weapons were used in the television series The A-Team:
Correction. During The A-Team series they did not use GB (Government Bayonet/Barrel) models as a rule. Some of the bad guys did from time to time and in the episode Trouble On Wheels the Team actually had AC-556 GB models mounted to the side of the car they built. Also in Bounty the team mounted 2 AC-556F shortys in BA's van. There are also other instances where the bad guys used Ruger Mini 14 and AC-556 GB models. The stainless factory folders the team used were simply basic Mini 14s with regular barrels on them. They had Federal Ordnance flash suppresors on them. People keep thinking they were GB models and they were not. They did not have the bayonet lug mount and they had standard front sights. Again they are simiple Federal Ordnance flash suppressors. In the second season the team also had nickel plated Federal Ordnance handguards on them as well. Again notice the standard Mini 14 barrel with Federal Ordnance flash suppresor. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v673/5150rob/maltese1.jpg
In season 3 through 5 they had the regular black Black Ruger ventilated handguards on them.

Here is a picture of my 2 Ruger Mini 14 rifles decked out in exact A-Team configuration. Both Mini 14s have the exact Federal Ordnance flash suppresors on them and the season 2 replica also has the Federal Ordnance handguard and the other had the standard Ruger black handguard. The other Ruger is my AC-556F seen in BA's van in the Bounty episode.

I hope that this helps to clarify for people the actual Rugers that were used in The A-Team.
Ruger Mini 14 GB
When the show began its full run in 1984, the producers decided not to have the team use different weapons every week, primarily due to budget concerns. (Let's face it, it was a cheap show). Beginning with its second season, the A-Team favored the Ruger Mini 14 GB with a factory folding stock in Stainless steel. Contrary to popular belief, these were not the fully automatic versions of the Ruger Mini 14, the Ruger AC556 rifles, but the Semi auto only Ruger Mini 14 GBs with folding stocks. Close examination of the show reveals that the actors are pulling the triggers quickly and only a few spent brass casing as flying out, despite the sound effects of full auto fire. Also the cuts in editing, showing bullet squibs and 'dust hits' against the ground and buildings, created the illusion of full auto firing Ruger rifles. Since Americans had not yet been exposed to 'assault weapon bans' being that this was the mid 1980s, the title 1 classified Ruger rifles were easy to transport across state and local lines with no paperwork hassles. The rifles were actually purchased for the show and were kept on permanent storage in the show's props containers during the show's run.
Note: there may have been instances where real AC556 rifles were used early in the show's run (to be determined), but upon examining episodes from mid first season on, all the Rugers are semi auto rifles. The commercial minis have sights mounted near the muzzle brake, the govt. AC556 have sights mounted on the center of the barrel.
Browning Hi-Power
The Browning Hi-Power is one of the handguns frequently used by Col. John "Hannibal" Smith.
Correction. In the Battle Of Bel Air Hannibal did not use a Browning Hi Power. Examine the picture carefully where he has the gun on Decker and its clearly not a Hi Power its a S&W blued 39. He used a Smith and Wesson model 39 blued 8rd automatic pistol for 4 episodes and then switched to a S&W model 639 (stainless 8rd automatic). The last episode Hannibal used his Browning Hi Power is Taxi Cab Wars.
Smith & Wesson Model 29
The Smith & Wesson Model 29 is the main sidearm of A-Team nemesis Col. Decker (Lance LeGault). Faceman is also seen carrying the Smith & Wesson Model 29 in numerous episodes.
Colt M1911
The M1911 and many variants are carried at various times by A-Team members, U.S. Military Police pursuing the A-Team, and various bad guys.
Wilkinson Arms Linda pistol
Hannibal uses a Wilkinson Arms Linda machine pistol converted to full-auto in the Season 2 episode "Deadly Maneuvers".
M16
M16A1
Used by U.S. Military Police pursing the A-Team, by A-Team members themselves, and various bad guys.
- Err, I almost forgot...some could have been earlier-model M16s or AR15 Sporters, but I don't remember anymore.
M60
The M60 was the regular squad support weapon in the series, always used by Hannibal Smith (George Peppard) and rarely by B.A. Baracus (Mr. T) even though he would of been the obvious choice but more often was relegated to using a chrome Smith & Wesson 639 automatic pistol.
(Fake) XM177
Intratec TEC-9
Seen used by Robert Davi in an episode. Also, TEC-9 Mini blued carried by Hannibal in at least 1 episode.
MAC-10
The MAC-10 appears in two guises in this tv series. Both as itself (in a specific instance where Hannibal discovers it in a weapons cache inside a limo - complete with what appears to be a Psionics suppressor) and in a "fake Uzi" mode much like The Dogs of War with fake Uzi furniture mounted on the barrel and receiver. If memory serves the "front sight" of the Uzi was actually upside down!!!
