XM177E2 ? - bozitojugg3rn4ut 15:19, 10 February 2012 (CST)

From what I can see that matches, but would need better shot of the flash hider to know for sure. --commando552 14:55, 13 February 2012 (CST)
Unfortunately, there is no better shot of the gun. Considering that it is from an archive footage, it is probably a real XM177E2, not a mock-up. On the M16 page there is no other variant with this kind of a barrel and forward assist, that is why I thought it is a XM177E2. - bozitojugg3rn4ut 15:15, 13 February 2012 (CST)

Is this some sort of variant of the MAG? According to wikipedia, that is what should be mounted on a Merkava Mark IV MBT. - bozitojugg3rn4ut 13:37, 13 February 2012 (CST)

Yeah, that is the loaders FN MAG. It looks odd because it is fitted with the barrel of the coaxial variants (like the M240C) which have no flash hider or front sight. I assume it is meant to aim purely with tracer fire, which is fair enough considering you are firing from the roof of a tank as it bounces around. --commando552 14:55, 13 February 2012 (CST)
It is part of a remote weapons station? --Funkychinaman 14:57, 13 February 2012 (CST)
Don't think so, if it was part of an RWS I think you would see sensors and a sturdier mount. Also, the gun would be mounted directly on top of the tank, not hanging off to the side. The loaders mount is barbaric on the Merkava, it is pretty much a cradle on the end of a pole that you can swing around to where you want it. --commando552 15:12, 13 February 2012 (CST)
No, it is not part of a RWS. Oh, and thanks. --bozitojugg3rn4ut 15:15, 13 February 2012 (CST)

Ferfrans RMGL 403

I think this is actually a DEFCOM XL 200. I can't find any info, but assume that Ferfrans bought out Defcom and now makes a version of it, but you can just about make out the word "DEFCOM" stamped on the side of the launcher. --commando552 08:12, 18 February 2012 (CST)

Could be a licensed copy of the XL200. I took the "RMGL 403" name from their website, it is never mentioned on the show, only XL200. - bozitojugg3rn4ut 12:29, 18 February 2012 (CST)

AC-130

Which AC-130 is this:

AC-130A ? --bozitojugg3rn4ut 11:44, 19 February 2012 (CST)

I'd have to guess AC-130A as well. --Funkychinaman 14:17, 19 February 2012 (CST)
4x Miniguns, 4x Vulcans, I'd love to see that thing fire. 48,000rpm. Or 800 rounds per second :)--Mandolin 14:54, 19 February 2012 (CST)
Yes, is definitely an original AC-130A "Project Gunship II". Does anyone know where the 4 miniguns are located on the original AC-130As? The four large cannons along the bottom in the pic are the 20mm Vulcans, and the little gun you can see poking out above the front of the landing gear sponson is a minigun. I think there is another a couple of metres aft of this but is obscured from this angle by the sponson, but where are the other two? I can only find pics of back end of the upgraded "Surprise Package" AC-130As, which got rid of the other two miniguns and the aft Vulcans to mount a pair of 40mm Bofors. --commando552 17:18, 19 February 2012 (CST)
