Don't think this is the case though as there was already a model 1 1/2 chambered in .32 rimfire in the "tip up" series which was half way between the [[Smith & Wesson Model 1]] and the [[Smith & Wesson Model 2]]. I think this Model 1 1/2 is essentially the top break replacement for that tip up one. - I originally thought it was called this because it was a pocket revolver based on the Smith & Wesson Model 1 so was half of it. Don't think this is the case though as there was already a model 1 1/2 chambered in .32 rimfire in the "tip up" series which was half way between the Smith & Wesson Model 1 and the Smith & Wesson Model 2.
