Charles Taylor's Armory

These didn't really fit on the main page so here's some shots of Charles Taylor's armory from the film.

Here we see a Ruger Speed Six, a Para-Ordnance Nite-Tac, another above it, a SIG-Sauer P226, and a Glock 17 above that.

I believe that is a Ruger Security six and not the Speed six. If i remember correctly the speed six has a fixed back sight and the Security six has a adjustable back sight like the one in the picture.--Spades of Columbia 00:58, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Here we see two Nite-Tacs, the tutone SIG P226, a Micro Uzi, a Beretta 92FS and a Taurus PT92 AFS. At the top is a full sized Uzi.

What's this "we" shit? I don't see you making pages. I've been better about going over on screencaps, but many of these shots show different users, different scenes, and do more than just document guns. I also made Hot Fuzz btw. Check my pages made, I've made a lot of pages. And I do upload a lot of screencaps sometimes, but I rarely do so without a cause. Try reading the captions under the images, they tend to show why I go over sometimes. - Gunmaster45

Okay, no more "we shit" ;) "YOU go overboard with screencaps" is what some posters are saying ... and you always take it personally, like they don't appreciate the hard work you do. That's not the issue. Of course you do hard work and much of it is excellent, but you seem to have a really hard time understanding why a lot of IMFDB users start getting tired of seeing 15-20 shots of the same gun. (BTW, you have gotten much better re: screencaps compared to the earlier pages, which of course, none of us can edit at all or else you'll kill us ;) ) You have to start understanding that there is a point where viewers start saying to themselves "Alright already! Enough with the fucking gun! Get on with it already!" There has to be a filter where one sees that there is too much of a good thing. Again this has nothing to do with the hard work. It is incredibly hard work and you are thanked for it. But don't confuse criticism for the editorial decision with insults to your hard work or direct insults for that matter. For the record, I will never 'touch' one of your pages. You're a mod, so it is inappropriate, but I am tempted to start cutting back some of the absolutely ridiculous pages made by new members. It makes IMFDB look bad when it appears we have no restraint whatsoever when it comes to screencaps (Like this section) Again, critiques of editorial choices are not insults to the man. But we (IMFDB) are going to see more and more of these 'conflicts'. MPM

It's not like I pic a bunch of crappy shots though that barely show the gun. I try to pick the best of the best. I never have that "Enough already" mentallity, so maybe that's why I never understand what the big deal is. - Gunmaster45

• It appears to be a "Fake" 93R, mocked up from a 92FS. The giveaway is the slide-mounted safety, barely visible.

Desert Eagle

The screencap of the Desert Eagle closeup looks pretty clearly stamped with ".44". Also, the film was shot in Canada, which makes the usage of a .44 magnum handgun much more likely.

What does Canada have to do with the .44 Mag?...if that is your logic wouldn't it be more likely that its a airsoft...since it's filmed in Canada.Spades of Columbia

You think all of our pictures of screen-used guns from movies like Scarface and Live Free or Die Hard are airsoft? Movie armorers are specially licensed to own/rent/handle real weapons on movie sets, dude. Doesn't matter what country they're in. This Film is Anti gun

Anyone else annoyed by this film's rhetoric and think it's anti-gun? there were quotes like "What do you think of the 2nd Amendment now" and "why so people can go deer hunting with an uzi" all said by the hero -User:AdAstra2009

I agree. How stupid is that, a shoot em up (actually named shoot em up) is anti gun. Or at least Smith is anti gun, which makes him a mega hypocrite. - Gunmaster45

I say it's anti-"Bad people having guns". I'd say Smith doesn't hate guns in themselves, or he hates guns, but acknowledges that there is no way to completely eradicate them. I dunno, I just watch this for the action. -protoAuthor

Best way to deal with this is to skip the scene when Smith talks to the Presidential candidate on the plane. Most of the egregious anti-gun crap comes from that scene alone. Just skip from when he sets up the meeting to the skydiving shootout.

Or, just skip the whole movie. It's not very good IMHO. There are much better films to watch "just for the action" that are not an affront to lawful sportsman and responsible gun owners and shooters. --James3 14:47, 4 June 2012 (CDT)

It's just a trick of the camera, he falls back and hits the wall after he's shot, so I doubt they could get a cardboard cut out to do that. - Gunmaster45

Just realize something

I know this movie makes fun of itself but this one scene actually stood out watching it. The scene is the second time we see the Desert Eagle in the whore house and Clive Owens said it is a 6 shooter. Then Paul Giamatti mentions that Clive Owen's Taurus was empty (even though we see it later on), and then mentioned that the Glock he was holding can't be used by him. My question is, why didn't Clive Owen's character just take the mag out, and swap the ammo from that with his other gun that works? Excalibur01 16:51, 6 June 2012 (CDT)

MP5K

I don't know if the photo on the set is ever maked with the same weapons used in the final version of the film, but the image below reveals that Smith fires an MP5KA4 and not an MP5K with navy group in the stairs scene how specificated in the page... --Charly Driver 21:11, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

It might be a continuity error. Our screencaps show that the MP5K has an SEF trigger group initially. Though I can't really be sure, as I haven't seen this movie yet. -MT2008 21:22, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Trigger Discipline

I get this movie is not realistic at all, but for someone who is amazing with firearms, shouldn't Smith have shown better trigger discipline? The only person I saw throughout the movie that exercised any Trigger Discipline was Hertz when he was reloading his Desert Eagle in the Hammerson Warehouse.

You MIGHT be able to justify it if you consider that a.) He doesn't particularly care about his own life, and b.) 9 times out of 10 he doesn't especially care about the lives of whomever is around him, either. - 2wingo

PPK and Desert Eagle

Did any one else think that the PPK looked tiny in Clive Owen's hands, more so than with other actors, making you think he has big hands; then when he handles the Desert Eagle it looks huge, which would have the oposite implications of the PPK? Thoughts? --Rebusdi 09:51, 5 June 2012 (CDT)
