:Well, the obvious visual difference is the web under the barrel, the shape of the grip and the  ejector rod are also somewhat different. Functionally they work the same, are about the same size (well, the SAA with the 7 1/2" barrel) and chamber most of the same cartridges. Colt does offer more selection in chamberings though.
