Keller’s carbine

Are we really sure that the SBR used by Dean Keller (Ben McKenzie) is a TTI build? As far as I can tell, it’s just a standard BCM CQB-9 (likely in .300 Blackout, since BCM only offered the 9” URGs in this caliber). I say this because throughout the film, you can clearly see the BCM markings on the receiver - including the second screenshot on the page. Taran’s ARs use lots of BCM components, but they aren’t going to come with BCM receiver markings (because TTI guns typically use Vltor receivers like the MUR design).

On another note, this page doesn’t account for the other BCM rifles seen in the movie. Some of the cops use BCM RECCE-14 carbines (fitted with KMR-A13 KeyMod forearms); Keller is seen using one that is fitted with an ACOG briefly. When I saw the movie, I remember finding it odd that the SWAT officers carry those retro 16” carbines with A2-style fixed carry handle receivers and no rails or optics (as we document in the page), while the regular uniformed cops get state-of-the-art new BCM rifles with modern optics and modular rails. -MT2008 (talk) 14:23, 5 July 2020 (EDT)

Yep, it's stated here to be a TTI build. In fact, notice in our article's second screencap how it has a shorter barrel than the BCM CQB-9, along with a KMR Alpha 7 handguard. Here are some closeups of the similar carbine that was used in Fast 8 (the info about the barrel length is inconsistent though; I don't know if it's supposed to be 7" or 8"), and as you can see in that post (as well as the TTI page here), these specific TTI builds do have BCM markings on the upper receiver.

OK, got it, I stand corrected. All of the TTI rifles I’ve seen (and most of the ones we’ve documented - e.g. John Wick 2 and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back) have had Vltor receivers. I didn’t realize Taran was starting to sell their rifles with actual BCM uppers. On another note - what exactly does XTreme Props do? Are they just consultants on the firearms? As far as I know, ISS seems to be supplying the armory services (including the firearms themselves) for all of the productions that XTreme Props works on.

As for the other rifles: Somebody uploaded the entire downtown Birmingham shootout to YouTube in HD - the BCM rifles appear there. That’s where I’d get screen caps. -MT2008 (talk) 19:48, 5 July 2020 (EDT)

No, Xtreme Props is actually the company that provided the weapons for those movies (including John Wick 2 & 3, etc.); I'm not sure about the supposed involvement of ISS. Here's a video of Gary Tuers talking about some of his company's firearms. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 16:37, 6 July 2020 (EDT)
