The air pistol looks like it is a GAT. These were originally made by Harrington & Co but have been produced under license by other people, like Umarex:

Umarex GAT - .177. This pistol is in the uncocked position, with the barrel protruding ahead of its sleeve.

The way that these work is that the barrel protrudes out of the front of the pistol when it isn't cocked, and to cock it you just push the muzzle against a flat surface until the barrel is all the way inside the barrel sleeve. They were loaded from the rear by a screw in breech, which you can see in the first cap. However, on a complete pistol there should be a long needle attached to the front of it which pushes the bb/pellet far enough along the barrel that it is ahead of the gas ports. Without this pin, the gun would either do nothing or possibly actually fire the bb backwards. --commando552 (talk) 18:14, 29 January 2016 (EST)
