How does an escalating budget have anything to do with the guns jamming? or looking fake? Is it established that they replaced them with crap prop guns or something? 75.36.148.131

Nice work

It looks good. I consider this little movie to be one of the best WW2 films ever made. And you can't tell me there weren't aspects of this film that were used in Saving Private Ryan. This movie has been used by many different filmakers (for inspiration) since. Don Siegel was an outstanding director and knew how to get the most out of a limited budget. He started as a second unit director in the 40's and had a reputation for being pretty inventive. And of course in Steve McQueen he had a actor who excelled at the "naturalistic" school of acting. It's a tough movie to screencap. It's B&W and so much of takes place at night. Don't get too wrapped around the axle over Mr. 75.36.148.131 post. Mauser did the right thing, acknowledged the mistake and corrected it. I would be concerned if members started ignoring information because of the source, not if it's correct or not. Thanks everyone for the comments on the page. I agree with Jcordell that this is one of the best WWII movie made. Unlike some other older films this one, in my opinion, actually demonstrates the grimmer side to war. Aspects of this movie certainly found there way into Saving Private Ryan. Poor Mausy is right OLIVEIRA (lol). I’m human, so mistakes can be expected. I didn’t really know what to put for captions; I'm trying to think of some stuff. As for the comment of 75.36.148.131 that was a little mix up. I had put a little disclaimer at the top of the page asking users not to edit or post anything because I was building the page, and I think he posted that at the same time I had copy and pasted all my corrections into the page. I hit save and this error notice came up. I was so worried that I had lost my few hours of work, but I fixed it. He was just helping by bringing that to my attention, so I listened and fixed it to clear up any mistakes/misconceptions. Thanks MPM2008, I'm glad to see users enjoy my pages. P.S.
