Preserved Code

Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is an on-rails shooter developed by Teyon and published by Mastiff. Was released as multi-platform release for PC, PS3, and Wii in 2011 and will be re-released on X360 in 2012. The game follows the story of a USMC soldier and his duties fighting insurgents in Afghanistan in 2011. The game offers several different weapons and vehicles to choose from, as well as grenades.

Pistols

Beretta M92F

The Beretta M92F is the standard handgun in the game and becomes your default weapon when you run out of primary weapon ammunition. It has a 14 round magazine and has an infinite stockpile of extra ammunition. The ROF of the weapon is as fast as the users trigger pull so at times the gun can appear to be automatic. Each time the weapon is reloaded the player has to pull the slide back to chamber a round, even if one has already been loaded.

Mechanically, the Beretta has the same damage as Rifles and can oddly be used to destroy BTRs, an odd quirk with every firearm is that every 3-4th shot will have a stock suppressed sound despite no weapon having a supressor.

Assault Rifles

M4A1

The M4A1 is the standard assault rifle you begin with in HF:A. It has a 30 round capacity and a slower rate of fire than in most games. Reloaded with a standard 30 round clip, there are no variations or mods that can be added to this weapon, it is the only firearm used by Non-player Marines.

Heckler & Koch XM8

The XM8 is the second tier weapon you have the chance to upgrade to once you have completed 2 single player missions, it holds 30 bullets like the M4A1 but with a faster rate of fire, it is called the "XF8 Machine Gun" in the upgrade menu.

Fabrique Nationale FN F2000

The FN F2000 is the third tier weapon you can get in the game. Has a larger ammo capacity than the other two weapons and a higher ROF. The games' in game weapon icon shows it to have an under barrel FL-1 Grenade Launcher and setup similar to the Spinter Cell Videogame series with the SC20K, it is called the "FX2000 Machine Gun" in the Upgrade menu, it has a lower rate of fire like the M4A1 but inaccurately holds 60 bullets in a magazine, there is no hand on the trigger during gameplay.

Machine Guns

M249

The M249 is the last tier weapon you are able to purchase. It has the largest ammo capacity of all the weapons in the game but has a substantionally longer reload without the faster reload perk. While it does make up for the capacity, most enemies in the game only take one shot to kill thus forcing you to use more bullets than you would probably need.

Browning M2HB

The "Ma Deuce" appears in several levels as a fixed weapon emplacement the player will move to and utilize at certain pre-determined locations. As with most modern shooters, it comes with an infinite ammo supply with a high ROF. The gun is balanced by having it overheat when under constant use.

Explosives

M26 Hand Grenade

The hand grenades are very powerful weapons which kill all enemies on the screen in the blast radius. You can only carry a maximum of 3 to begin with however using the points you accrue throughout the game you can upgrade that amount to six.

M72 LAW

The M72 LAW is used in predetermined moments in the game (namely at the last level of the game) wherein you are tasked to destroy certain vehicles. Like its real life counterpart, the LAW is a single shot weapon that needs to be reloaded after being shot once. The weapon cannot be purchased for your inventory or found in any other sections of the game.
