Anti gun?
So how insulting IS this movie to gun owners?  I already hate the title. Like Loving America makes you a gun crazy homicidal maniac.  MoviePropMaster2008 01:39, 18 May 2012 (CDT)

:To me it doesn't look like it's anti-gun, it seems to be more anti-reality TV and all the garbage in the media these days. There might be a small anti-gun message but I think based on the trailer it looks like the main core of the film is against all the so called reality TV stuff that seems to keep braindead simpletons entertained. --cool-breeze 07:32, 18 May 2012 (CDT)

::I have not seen the movie but, seriously?  Two disaffected individuals go on a shooting spree?  The title is God Bless America all the while the main tactic is randomly shooting people?  they get their guns from illegal gun dealers?  The main thrust may not be anti gun, but I assure you that the filmmakers definitely drank the anti gun Kool-Aid.  MoviePropMaster2008 11:22, 18 May 2012 (CDT)

:::Yeah but you might as well say that films like The Punisher are anti gun if you think like that. The guns are merely a tool for them to get rid of what they see to be a drain on humanity. I do see your point and I'm one of the most anti-anti-gun people in the UK more than likely, but I really don't see an overt anti-gun message in the trailer. Maybe it's more obvious in the film itself but I don't really get a huge anti-gun sentiment from the trailer alone. --cool-breeze 13:05, 18 May 2012 (CDT)

::::Uh, no, but then art is subjective.  You're rationalizing it from a viewpoint of someone who doesn't see guns as a threat to mankind.  Again, I would have to see the film in it's entirety but if you cannot see ANY potential for anti gun bias, then it is because you immediately gravitate towards the clear thinking path, not the hysterical, sarcastic, path taken by films like "Shoot Em Up".  Hollywood is filled with gun hating left wingers who will use guns and showcase them purely for 'entertainment value'.  I work all the time with directors who don't know a thing about guns and yet insists on the most ridiculous stuff (like a shotgun obliterating a door like a howitzer) and in the same breath, condemn private gun ownership.  It is good you are not in a region where this type of duality happens.  Again, the unsubtle barbs at the idiocy of celebrity or jerk ridden society of this film are not the point of controversy.  The implication that any and all unbalanced folks (including minors) can go out and get any firearm they want from illegal dealers is, itself, a biased statement against the gun culture of the United States.  IMHO :D  MoviePropMaster2008 16:13, 18 May 2012 (CDT)

It just looks like a person who has nothing to lose goes out to end all that annoys him no matter the severity of the annoyance, if he tried to do that without a gun he wouldn't get anywhere so it's not insulting gun owners at all. Plus the title is sarcastic to show how media and the modern world has become an annoyance that has spread across america and turned the people into selfish and unpleasent zombie-type citizens. --Pistolpete 13:33, 18 May 2012 (CDT)

:^This is the point I was trying to make but failing totally as I didn't really know how to word it, so thanks pistolpete for putting it in the way you did :) --cool-breeze 13:57, 18 May 2012 (CDT)

The revolver that the gun dealer shows him is a Rossi Cyclops. The one in the office looks like a different Rossi based on the vent rib and cylinder release. I don't have any way to get screen caps from the movie, but I'm positive about the Cyclops. Here is a link to a picture of it: http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg179/python8357/Stuff%201/cyclops.jpg

AK47

That's not a milled receiver. It's a stamped receiver, mostly likely a Chinese Type 56 mpm

Also, in the shot of Frank aiming it out of the window, it is very clear that it has the 'hooded' front sight of a type Type 56

It's a MAK-90. The thumbhole stock was removed, a pistol grip was put on and a wooden 'plug' put in the back so that you wouldn't be stabbed by the protruding metal tang. Also the Front site has the lower "cleaning rod catcher" ground off. MoviePropMaster2008 01:38, 18 May 2012 (CDT)

Revolvers

The revolver that the gun dealer shows him is a Rossi Cyclops. The one in the office looks like a different Rossi based on the vent rib and cylinder release. I don't have any way to get screen caps from the movie, but I'm positive about the Cyclops.
