Stalingrad is a 2013 Russian World War II action drama directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk. Film set in November 1942, a group of Soviet soldiers is blocked in the building. At any cost they are trying to protect this building and civilians who live in it. The cast includes Thomas Kretschmann, who also appeared in a 1993 film of the same name.

The MG42 is used by German soldiers. While the MG42 actually saw limited use at Stalingrad, the movie's depiction commits the common error of showing the weapon with the post 1943 vertical charging handle instead of the period appropriate and rare slab-sided horizontal handle.
