Sons of Anarchy was a television crime drama centering around Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam), vice-president of SAMCRO (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original), a motorcycle gang deeply involved in illegal gunrunning. The story is roughly based on Shakespeare's play Hamlet, with Jax's mother and stepfather sharing a dark secret about the death of Jax's father and Jax coming into his own while trying to lead SAMCRO away from guns. The series aired in the US for seven seasons on the FX Network from 2008 to 2014 and spawned the spinoff Mayans M.C. in 2018.
