Sniper (1993)

Sniper is a 1993 action thriller starring Tom Berenger as Master Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Beckett, a USMC sniper who is paired with a rookie CIA sniper when assigned a mission to Colombia to eliminate a drug cartel leader. Berenger would return as Beckett in Sniper 2 and Sniper 3.

The following guns were used in the movie Sniper

M40A1

Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Beckett (Tom Berenger), USMC Sniper, uses an M40A1 Sniper Rifle - 7.62x51mm NATO which is based on the Remington Model 700 Bolt Action Rifle.

The M40A1 rifles used in the film were Remington 700 rifles, supplied for the filming by 'Weapons and Effects' of San Rafael, CA. The rifles were fully prepared as though they would see real use, with aftermarket bedding, trigger jobs, McMillan stocks and parkerization done by Scott, McDougall & Associates of Santa Rosa, CA.

Heckler & Koch SR9TC

CIA sniper Richard Miller (Billy Zane) uses the Heckler & Koch SR9TC rifle as his weapon of choice.

L1A1 Self Loading Rifle

An L1A1 SLR rifle is seen hanging on a wall of the Marine Enlisted Club. As the movie was filmed in Australia and used an actual Australian Army NCO club this would have been an actual Lithgow Small Arms Factory Australian L1A1 with the original handguards prior to the introduction of the rounded variant more common on Australian L1A1's.
