The Sleeping Lion (Spyashchiy lev) is a Soviet 1965 comedy directed by Aleksandr Faintsimmer. After a timid and indecisive bank employee Vasiliy Ivanovich Tsvetkov (Konstantin Sorokin) detains two robbers, he becomes a totally different person. Soon he takes a revealing action against his superior, incompetent bank manager Telegin (Sergey Martinson).

The following weapons were used in the film The Sleeping Lion (Spyashchiy lev):

Revolvers

Nagant M1895

Nagant M1895 revolvers are seen in hands of bank employees when they train on the shooting range.

Nagant M1895 - 7.62x38R Nagant. Note the angular front sight which was used from 1930s.
Shooters ready their Nagants: bank teller Gritsenko (Aleksei Smirnov) at the left, cash collector Kotikov (Vyacheslav Gostinsky) in center, bank teller Morozov (Vladimir Pitsek) at the right.

The shooting instructor, Militsiya Starshina (senior NCO) (Mikhail Pugovkin) watches for their results (the character is credited as Sergeant but he has insignia of Starshina rank).

Pistols

TT-33

TT-33 pistols are also seen in hands of bank employees when they train on the shooting range. Vasiliy Ivanovich Tsvetkov (Konstantin Sorokin) holds a TT when he accidentally detains two robbers in grocery store. In a scene played out in the imagination of Tsvetkov's co-worker Matvey Gavrilovich Goloskokov (Sergey Filippov), Tsvetkov's pistol is hold by his daughter's fiance Aleksandr Streltsov (Yuri Belov).

TT-33 dated 1942 with checkered wood grips - 7.62x25mm Tokarev.
One of the shooters on the range (at the right) holds a TT. In next moment the pistol in his hand is replaced with a Nagant revolver.
The shooting instructor, Militsiya Starshina (Mikhail Pugovkin) forcibly turns Tsvetkov's hand with the gun away from him. The TT has pre-1947 slide serration.
Tsvetkov accidentally fires... and hits the bull's eye!
Tsvetkov fires again and predictably misses.
Tsvetkov holds the pistol after the shooting, again in violation of safety regulations directing it at the instructor.
Tsvetkov draws the pistol in the grocery store, startling the saleswoman.
Tsvetkov turns in another side and accidentally points the gun at two robbers.
Starshina gives the pistol back to Tsvetkov after the arrest of robbers. Note the checkered wood grips, a sign of wartime manufactured TT.
Goloskokov takes the pistol from Tsvetkov's briefcase, erroneously taking it instead of his own briefcase.
In Goloskokov's imagination, Tsvetkov gives the pistol to Streltsov who puts the gun to head.

Percussion Dueling Pistol

In Tsvetkov's dream he and bank manager Nikolay Nikolaevich Telegin (Sergey Martinson) have a duel. Both are dressed in 19th century style and use Percussion Dueling Pistols.

Shotguns

Double Barreled Shotgun

Goloskokov carries a Double Barreled Shotgun when he returns from bird hunt. His shotgun with exposed hammers is most likely a TOZ production but the exact model is unclear.

For comparison: TOZ-BM - 16 gauge

Trivia

In the scene in the grocery store, Militsiya Starshina carries a holster for PM pistol.

The holster is definitly empty.
A good view of the holster. It differs from standard Soviet pattern and seems more resembling East German pattern.
