In the beginning of the film, Detective Hartigan ([[Bruce Willis]]) uses a [[Smith & Wesson Model 29]] .44 magnum to rescue the young Nancy Callahan ([[Makenzie Vega]]), and also uses it to blow Roark Jr. ([[Nick Stahl]]) apart. Frank Miller made Hartigan use a .44 magnum as an ode to Dirty Harry and felt the 5th film was a bad way to end the series, so he made this as his Dirty Harry. Note how Nancy's last name is "Callahan." Despite being a lefty in real life, Bruce Willis was nice enough to fake being a righty shooter for the film to stay faithful to the comics.

The following guns were used in the movie Sin City

Sin City (2005)

Springfield Armory M1911A1

The M1911A1 is one of the most frequently used handguns in the film (mainly Springfield Armory models, which are clearly seen on the slides of the guns). At the beginning of the film, The Man (Josh Hartnett) uses a G.I. model fitted with a sound-suppressor to kill a woman. Marv (Mickey Rourke) also packs a G.I. model, which he affectionately named "Gladys", after a nun in his catholic school. Apparently he took the gun from a guy he killed at school based on the line "I stole her off the toughest guy I ever messed with, back in school. He was dead at the time, so he didn't miss her." -(graphic novel Sin City: The Hard Goodbye"). Det. Jack "Jackie Boy" Rafferty (Benicio del Toro) packs a single G.I. model with Pearl grips and Dwight McCarthy (Clive Owen) carries two matching Mil-specs with ivory grips (They look to be GI's, the slide serrations are straight up and down, not agled foward like mil-specs). Along with all of them, several random extras such as thugs and Old Town prostitutes are seen with M1911A1s as well.

Springfield Armory M1911A1 mil-spec - .45 ACP.
Springfield Armory M1911A1 mil-spec stainless - .45 ACP.
The stainless Springfield Armory M1911A1 used by Benico Del Toro as Detective Jack Rafferty - .45 ACP.
The Salesman (Josh Hartnett) with a silenced M1911A1.
Marv (Mickey Rourke) retrieves his Springfield Armory G.I. Model M1911A1, nicknamed "Gladys", from under his bed in his mom's house. (extended cut).
Marv gets re-acquainted with "Gladys". (extended cut).
Marv kills the hitman with "Gladys".
Marv uses "Gladys" to interrogate the corrupt Priest (Frank Miller).
Marv shoots the Priest with "Gladys".
Marv readies "Gladys" as Wendie tries to run him over.
Marv retrieves "Gladys" after escaping from the Rourk farm prison.
Marv drops Gladys after being knocked out by Lucille (Carla Gugino), Marv's parole officer.

"Gladys" is shown as Marv checks his inventory.
The stainless Springfield Armory M1911A1 used by Benico Del Toro as Detective Jack Rafferty in the film - .45 ACP.
Det. Jack "Jackie Boy" Rafferty (Benicio del Toro) packs a single M1911A1.
An Old Town prostitute is seen armed with an ivory gripped M1911A1 when Rafferty and Dwight enter the town.
The matching pair of Springfield Armory M1911A1s used by Clive Owen as Dwight McCarthy in the film - .45 ACP.
Dwight McCarthy (Clive Owen) carries a pair of Springfield Armory M1911A1s.
Det. Rafferty points his M1911A1 at Beckie (Alexis Bledel).
Miho (Devon Aoki) severs Rafferty's hand, which is still holding his M1911A1.
Rafferty pries open the fingers of his severed hand with his teeth to retrieve his M1911A1, which was Del Toro's idea.
Rafferty points his M1911A1 at Miho.
Miho throws a muzzle plug into Rafferty's M1911A1.
The plug clearly enters Rafferty's M1911A1. If it could clearly enter the barrel from being thrown in, it is doubtful it is in tight enough to cause the gun to backfire.
The slide rips off the frame of Rafferty's M1911A1, although the hammer stays down even though the slide just flew back.
The slide flies back into Rafferty's forehead, although this is completly impossible due to the design of the pistol.
Dwight readies his G.I. (not a milspec, the slide serrations are running vertically, the milspecs are angled foward. looks to be a modified GI because of the lowered ejection port) M1911A1 as the officer inspects Rafferty's dead body.
Dwight points his M1911A1 at the bomber, unaware he is standing on a bomb trap.
Dwight fires his M1911A1s akimbo at Manute and his men in the alleyway.
Schulz and this thug are pinned together by Miho's sword, one armed with an M1911A1. Based on the external extractor, this could be a replica or a Star Model B. (extended cut).

Micro Uzi

The Painted Cop (Ryan Rutledge) brings a squad armed, like himself, with Micro Uzis to take out Marv (Mickey Rourke) at the Roark's farm. We later see both an Old Town prostitute and an IRA mercenary with Micro Uzis.

Two officers approach Hartigan with Micro Uzis before being killed.

IMI Uzi

Gail's (Rosario Dawson) weapon of choice is a full size 9mm IMI Uzi. The police guarding Cardinal Roark's (Rutger Hauer) home also carry IMI Uzis.

Beretta 92FS (mocked up as M93R Auto 9)

Douglas Klump (Rick Gomez) is the first we see with a Beretta M93R Auto 9. Hartigan (Bruce Willis) later takes Klump's Beretta M93R Auto 9 and kills a cop with it at the Roark's farm. Close inspection of the slide reveals a decocking safety of a Beretta 92FS, while a genuine M93R has a frame mounted safety, meaning this gun is a 92FS mocked up as an Auto 9. This was a deliberate reference to the RoboCop series.

Klump (Rick Gomez) points his Beretta M93R Auto 9 at Hartigan.
Klump smacks a magazine into his Auto 9 as he prepares to pick up Hartigan in the hotel. (extended cut).
Hartigan takes Klump's Auto 9 for himself.
Hartigan fires the Auto 9. Note the famous muzzle flash.
Hartigan fires the Auto 9 akimbo along with a Ruger Blackhawk.

Beretta 92FS

Roark Jr. a.k.a. Yellow Bastard (Nick Stahl) packs a Beretta 92FS when he follows Hartigan (Bruce Willis) to Kady's Bar and then fires it at Hartigan and Nancy (Jessica Alba) as they try to escape in her car.

Yellow Bastard (Nick Stahl) makes his Beretta 92FS very clear to Hartigan, who says in his thoughts, "I have to get that Beretta away from him somehow, and kill him."

The Yellow Bastard's 92FS locks back empty (which due to the lack of a muzzle flash, sends the slide back without a gunshot.)
YB drops his 92FS when Hartigan shoots him in the throat with a well aimed shot.

SPAS-12

One of the IRA mercenaries that comes after Dwight McCarthy (Clive Owen) at The Pits carries a SPAS-12.

Steyr AUG

The IRA mercenary that shoots McCarthy (Clive Owen) from the T-Rex uses a Steyr AUG. Later when they find the bullet in Rafferty's badge, the bullet is far too large to be a 5.56mm.

Steyr AUG A1 - 5.56mm

Intratec TEC-9

When Dwight McCarthy (Clive Owen) packs the mob into the twisted alleyway prostitutes open up with Intratec TEC-9s.

Another prostitute fires her TEC-9, which appears to a be post-production edit. Note how she rests her thumb on the bolt, which would be cycling in reality.

Smith & Wesson Model 29

In the beginning of the film, Detective Hartigan (Bruce Willis) uses a Smith & Wesson Model 29 .44 magnum to rescue the young Nancy Callahan (Makenzie Vega), and also uses it to blow Roark Jr. (Nick Stahl) apart.

Hartigan blows off Roark's arm with his Model 29.

Colt Python

In the beginning of the film, Bob (Michael Madsen) shoots his partner, Hartigan (Bruce Willis) with a Colt Python in the back and chest in fear of the Roark family's wrath. Marv's parole officer Lucille (Carla Gugino) also packs a Colt Python, but hers is a snub nosed version. A hitman holds a Colt Python to Marv's back in Katie's Bar, and an Old Town prostitute can also be seen wielding one. Strangely Bob fires 8 shots out of his six shot Python.

Lucille (Carla Gugino) pulls out her Colt Python snub when she hears Marv enter her apartment...okay, as if you're really looking at her gun.

Colt Defender

During the scene where Hartigan (Bruce Willis) is in a hospital room and Senator Roark (Powers Boothe) is telling him how he'll pay for shooting Roark Jr. (Nick Stahl), Senator Roark can be seen with a Colt Defender (a 3" 1911, if you look closely you can see the Colt "Ponies" on the slide before and after the words "Colt Defender"). It is clearly too small to be an Officers ACP or a Kimber as it was previously listed.

Colt Defender (compact M1911) - .45 ACP
"Power doesn't come from a badge, or a gun. Power comes from lying..."
Roark readies his Colt Defender.
"I could pump you full of bullets right now and I wouldn't even be arrested. Everyone would lie for me. Everyone who matters..."

Ruger Blackhawk

When Hartigan (Bruce Willis) returns from being in prison for eight years and meets up with the now nineteen year old Nancy Callahan (Jessica Alba), she gives him a stainless steel Ruger Blackhawk which he uses to shoot Roark Jr. a.k.a. Yellow Bastard (Nick Stahl) in the throat, and to kill a cop while going to rescue Nancy at the Roark family farm. Nancy herself wears a pair of stainless Ruger Blackhawks and some old town prostitutes are seen with them, noticeably Dallas the black masked Prostitute (Patricia Vonne).

Hartigan tricks YB into thinking he is too weak to lift his Ruger Blackhawk so he can get close and stab him.
Hartigan commits suicide with his Ruger Blackhawk.

Colt Detective Special

In the beginning of the film, Detective Hartigan (Bruce Willis) packs a Colt Detective Special in an ankle holster as his "Spare Rod". He attempts to use it when he is shot several times by his partner, Bob (Michael Madsen), but is only shot again when he attempts to pull it out.

Colt Detective Special - .38 Special.
Hartigan reaches for his "Spare Rod" in his ankle holster.

Walther P22

The first Walther P22 we see is in the hand of an Old Town prostitute, which is tutone with a compensator [Called the P22T or Target]. The next one we see is the one that Hartigan (Bruce Willis) takes from Shlubb (Nick Offerman) which is also tutone and is seen being affixed with a suppressor by Shlubb when going to pick up Hartigan. Hartigan's Walther P22 is notably seen while it's on the the seat of the stolen Ferrari next to Klump's (Rick Gomez) Beretta M93R Auto 9.

An Old Town prostitute with a Walther P22, which is tutone with a compensator and a laser device.
Schlubb threads a suppressor on his Walther P22 when going to pick up Hartigan. (extended cut).
Hartigan keeps Schlubb's Walther P22 on the seat of the stolen Ferrari along with Klump's Auto 9. It is confusing why Hartigan would resort to the stiletto knife when he clearly has a sound suppressed gun to use.

Smith & Wesson Model 19

Manute's henchman Stuka (Nicky Katt) packs a Smith & Wesson Model 19 with rubber grips. I think Stuka's gun is a Ruger Service-Six. Manute (Michael Clarke Duncan) himself appears to use the same revolver in the alley before being shot several times. He then flees from the alley and is stopped by Miho (Devon Aoki), where he is seen using two Model 19s before she cuts him in half with a large blade spear type weapon.

Colt Officers ACP M1991A1 Series 80

In the beginning of the movie, Roark Jr. (Nick Stahl) carries a Colt Officers ACP with a blued frame and stainless steel slide, which he uses to shoot Detective Hartigan (Bruce Willis) several times non-fatally and hold Nancy Callahan (Makenzie Vega) hostage but loses it when Hartigan blows his arm off on the dock.

Colt Officers ACP - .45 ACP.
As Roark Jr. runs away with young Nancy Callahan in his arms, the slide of his Colt Officers ACP clearly reads "Colt M1991A1". The hammer shouldn't be down after having just fired it seconds ago.

Roark Jr. fires his Officers ACP at Hartigan.

Smith and Wesson Model 60

Wendy (Jamie King) packs a Smith & Wesson Model 60 in .357 Magnum throughout the film, firing it several times at Marv (Mickey Rourke), and nearly kills Kevin (Elijah Wood) with it before Marv knocks her out.

Mk. 2 hand grenade

A grenade similar to a Mk. 2 hand grenade (likely just a plastic molded prop made to resemble the one in the comic book) is used by the bomber to send Dwight flying into the tar pits and to send Miho airborne, but not kill her.
