Sicario (Spanish for "hitman") is a 2015 crime thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners) and written by Taylor Sheridan (Sons of Anarchy). Emily Blunt stars as Kate Macer, an FBI SWAT agent assigned to the FBI's Phoenix Field Office, who becomes involved with an elite anti-drug task force led by a shadowy government official (Josh Brolin) and his mysterious Mexican partner (Benicio del Toro). The cast also includes Jon Bernthal and Jeffrey Donovan. A sequel, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, which also was written by Sheridan and with Josh Brolin, Benicio del Toro, and Jeffrey Donovan returning to reprise their roles, was released in June of 2018 by Sony and Columbia Pictures.

The following weapons were used in the film Sicario:

Handguns

Glock 19

Kate Macer (Emily Blunt) and other FBI agents carry a third generation Glock 19 as their main sidearm, the former notably using hers during the shootout at the Juárez-El Paso border crossing.

Glock 17

Alejandro (Benicio del Toro) also uses a fourth generation Glock 17 in several scenes.

4th Generation Glock 17 - 9x19mm. What differentiates this model from older models is the removable backstrap, more aggressive grip texture, enlarged magazine release and larger guide rod face. Also, Gen4 is engraved on the slide.
Alejandro (Benicio del Toro) uses a Glock 17 during a confrontation. Note the larger dual recoil spring guide rod, thus identifying this as a Gen 4 model.

Beretta 92FS

A Beretta 92FS can be seen in a Delta Force operator's holster during the shootout at the border crossing. A Sonora cartel member is later seen wielding a Beretta.

Heckler & Koch Mark 23

Alejandro (Benicio del Toro) uses a suppressed Heckler & Koch Mark 23 during the climax.

Heckler & Koch Mark 23 with suppressor -.45 ACP
The MK23 can be differentiated from the USP series by the raised sections of the front and rear of the slide at the point the sights are situated, from the curved underside of the front of the frame and also the threaded hole in the front of the wider, elongated trigger guard (for installation of a Wilcox or similar locking LAM unit) which you can see clearly in this still. Also the frame on a Mark 23 is significantly wider before the integrated rail than on a USP. Though it is hard to identify in the film, this enhanced publicity still helps, as well as a brief side shot in the film, detailing the unique Mark 23 trigger guard.
Alejandro (Benicio del Toro), while carrying his Gen 4 Glock 17, (if you look closely) can actually be seen with the Mark 23 in his vest holster, suppressor attached. Nifty continuity and foreshadowing. This could not have been mistaken for a similar USP, as it has an ambidextrous safety lever, which can clearly be seen on its left side.
Alejandro confronts Fausto Alarcon (Juan Cedillo) and his family. Note the older style reflective H&K "Maritime" finish. New MK23s feature HK's standard "Hostile Environment" finish.

Submachine Guns

Heckler & Koch MP5A3

Alejandro (Benicio del Toro) uses a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 with a Gemtech suppressor, KAC railed handguards and an Aimpoint sight. An unsuppressed MP5A3 with a Surefire forend is used by a cartel gunman during the border crossing shootout.

Rifles

M4A1 Carbine

Kate, Reggie Wayne (Daniel Kaluuya) and Phoenix PD SWAT officers use M4A1 Carbines during a raid. DEA Agent Steve Forsing (Jeffrey Donovan) and Delta Force commandos also use M4A1 Carbines, as do Mexican Federal Police officers, Border Patrol Officers, and cartel members. Note, Prior to the convoy shootout at the border crossing, as the teams are identifying the two threat targets, Steve Forsing (Jeffrey Donovan) raises his M4A1 with the dust cover open, indicating that the chamber is clearly empty.

An AK-103 rifle (likely an American semi-auto clone such as the Arsenal SLR-107FR) is used by a cartel hitman disguised as a Federal police officer (or a corrupt Federal police officer doing jobs for the cartel) during the border crossing shootout. A similar rifle is also seen in Silvio's (Maximiliano Hernández) home.
