Schwarzesmarken (2016)

Schwarzesmarken (シュヴァルツェスマーケン) is a 2016 anime series based on the light novel and visual novel game of the same name. The events took place in the Muv-Luv Alternative universe.

In an alternative time line, humanity is fighting a desperate battle against an overwhelming invading army of alien species collectively known as BETA (Beings of the Extra Terrestrial origin which is Adversary of the human race). Due to the presence of laser-class BETA neutralizing humanity's air superiority, the armies of the world were forced to develop tactical surface fighters (TSF) to combat the BETA threat.

By 1983, East Germany (German Democratic Republic, DDR) became the front line as the BETA advance reached the German-Polish border. The story follows the elite 666th "Schwarzesmarken" (Black Mark) TSF Squadron of the East German Army (Nationale Volksarmee, NVA) as they battle enemies both in front and behind them.

Machine Guns
