Safari №6 (Russian title: Сафари №6, Safari nomer shest) is a 1990 (released in 1991) Soviet action movie. In an unnamed country, there is a civil war. A graduate of the military school, Captain Ander, arrives in the military unit and almost immediately receives an appointment to the post of commander of a sabotage group. There is no doubt that a group under the command of an officer without the slightest combat experience is doomed to death. The only hope is with experienced Sergeant Gueuze, who from the very beginning of this strange raid suspected something was amiss...

Note: the page name does not use the "№" symbol due to IMFDB restrictions. Because of this, some other sites also refer to this movie simply as "Safari 6", although this is not the actual title.

Many characters, including Sergeant Gueuze (Viktor Avilov), carry holstered M1911A1 pistols (which are notably in the original holsters).

World War II Colt M1911A1 - .45 ACP. This was an issued U.S. Army pistol with parkerized finish, thus the official designation of M1911A1

Submachine Guns

MAC-11

Captain Ander (Viktor Shustov) carries the MAC-11 throughout the movie.

Thompson M1928A1

Sergeant Gueuze (Viktor Avilov) and several other soldiers carry the Thompson M1928A1 submachine guns.

M1928A1 Thompson with 30-round magazine - .45 ACP. This specimen has the sling swivel relocated to the top of the stock, a modification often made to Thompsons in British service.

Geuze in one scene shows Ander a couple of rounds (supposedly 12.7x55mm, although it may be mockups), taken from the bodies of enemy special battalion soldiers (although the weapons from which it could be shoot are not shown).
