The Ruger 10/22 is a very popular sporting weapon, named based on its .22 caliber and 10 round magazine capacity. The gun is very popular in customization and many after market parts can be bought to customize the rifle. Unfortunately, this rifle was added to the Assault Weapons Ban while Clinton was in office, likely due to how customizable it was (even though any logical thinking person knows this gun was built entirely as a sporting weapon, with no intention of being used as an assault weapon). Luckily the rifle is available today and still popular among shooters. Heavily tricked out models have been used in many marksmanship competitions. Available in .22 Long Rifle, .22 Magnum and .17 HMR.

The Ruger 10/22 has been used in the following films:

Ruger 10/22 - .22 Long Rifle.

Ruger 10/22 kitted out like an AR-15, fitted with a 30 round magazine. Aftermarket customizations like this were likely the cause of this gun being added to the Assault Weapons Ban. (Even though this just makes you a "Mall Ninja").
